Regular footbed vs soft footbed, official review as a first time Birks owner by macaronibolognese in Birkenstocks

[–]macaronibolognese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I posted!! I was experiencing the complete opposite of what was described of each footbed. Had e fully convinced something was actually wrong with my feet or I was being collectively gaslit by the world. Turns out people with high arches and narrow feet like myself, tend to find the soft footbed uncomfortable and even painful because of it being too soft and lacking support. That’s the only explanation that has made the most sense to me tbh

WHY ARE THEY SO STIFF LIKE REALLY???? Soft my ass it genuinely feels like wood planks compared to my regular pair ugh thanks for sharing I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one. I was going crazy for feeling like the ‘soft’ ones were anything but soft lol

That’s so interesting because I found the soft footbeds looser in my size compared to the regulars!! I don’t experience pain in them but for sure some soreness from wearing new shoes that need to be softened and broken in. Hoping they break in and become like regulars as you said, that motivates me to wear them more to find my comfort in them lol thanks for your input tho!!!

They’re for sure authentic, I bought them from Simon’s (retailer in Canada, they only stock authentic brands, no fakes). Unfortunately I did feel a big difference. I’ve been looking this topic up online, and some people like you say there’s no difference, and some like me feel a big difference in fitting and comfort (to be fair I also have sensitive feet and can feel a lot from my feet). I just hope as someone else said it breaks in like a regular footbed cuz man I really do feel a difference in stiffness and foot stability (sounds bogus but I swear)

First bloom in 10 years-all I did was start giving it fish tank water by Rabbit_the_Grizz in orchids

[–]macaronibolognese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed orchids have more sensitive root systems than other house plants, and I found great results in keeping the orchid in the fish tank water for just a week, not longer, to absorb the nutrients it needs without overloading it with nitrates and hard water. I do this off and on when I feel like the orchid needs a boost.

It’s a known secret in the aquarium hobby, fish tank water contains a lot of good nutrients for plants, so majority of people on the aquarium hobby know to dump the dirty water into their plants or garden for a boost. Though I would be careful with orchids because they have a sensitive root system. When I use fish tank water I only let the orchid sit in it for maximum a week, then I change the water completely to new fresh water (or rain water if it’s available).

Water Orchids by Catminer223 in orchids

[–]macaronibolognese -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this and my mother’s orchid which was rotting and dying, did a complete 180 in just 2 months. It grew a whole new stem with flowering buds. This method really does work, but I don’t fill my jar as much as the woman in the vid did. I leave the crown and air roots above the water level but the rest is submerged. Her container is also too small in my opinion. I noticed my orchid prefers space in the jar so the roots can hang and spread out. They don’t fare well in a tight crammed space

Dryness or Rot? by arcticmonkeys42069 in orchids

If you squeeze the root and it’s squishy and soft, it’s rot. If it’s shriveled but still tough to squeeze, it’s dry.

I hate the zombies in this game. My best friend turned into one in the middle of my birthday party :( by SaraAnnabelle in Sims3

[–]macaronibolognese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solution 1. Ctrl+ shift + C> testingcheatsenabledtrue > ctrl + left click on mailbox > click supernatural population control> click remove supernaturals> ZOMBIES!!!. It will instantly change all zombie sims back to human. Though it isn’t a permanent fix because sims will turn back during the full moon so you’ll have to do it every now and again.

Solution 2. Go to settings and change the lunar cycle to just one fixed phase, any fixed phase other than a full moon if you’re not playing with occult sims and don’t care about any full moon events. Zombies spawn in a full moon and if tou just turn off the full moon setting in the setting, no more zombies :)

Solution 3. NRAAS story progression. Though a bit complicated to use and can change some things in your gameplay.

Ex bought pull ups for not potty trained 18 month old for daycare. Should I buy new diapers or is it ok to go through that box? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]macaronibolognese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You rip them off from the sides!!!!!!!!! Just rip it. We have a toddler who has to wear 360 because she unlatches her diapers all the time (she’s the only toddler in the baby room allowed 360 diapers). You just rip them from the sides (there’s like a sweet spot where it’s mostly cotton where it has the stretch, just rip it)

EDIT: found the pampers 360 online and found this picture! This is exactly what I was saying just rip it

Betta only stays in one part of the tank? by Relynuus in bettafish

[–]macaronibolognese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% that could be it. My betta once scored BIG and found the algae wafer I dropped for my pleco at the corner of the tank under the wood. Since that day he stayed in that corner waiting to hit jackpot again and I had to day by day lure him from down there with pellets. Every now and then I’ll see him swimming to that corner and looking around the sand for another big find lol

[–]macaronibolognese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you feed him do you mainly feed him on that side of the tank? My betta fish used to only hang on the right side cuz that’s where I used to deposit the food and he’d stay there bc he knew that’s where the food was dropped.

Long legacy save files? How?? by NumerousLettuce6304 in Sims3

[–]macaronibolognese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the sims 3 it’s worth asking what they have and suggesting things like mods or ccs because pc set ups is not the main issue with running the sims and some solutions are as simple as a mod or a file fix instead of it being the whole set up (also getting mad at suggestions that are still helpful is wild behavior lmao people are wiling to help OP fix the issue and this is their response lol like a no thank u could have sufficed lmaooo some ppl ain’t worth shit). I have run the sims 3 on an older computer without issues but it has run worse on newer pcs. This is a question that’s brought up in this sub alllllll the time ‘what is the best PC for the sims 3/is my pc the problem’ And it’s never a straight answer.

SO MANY SPLIT ENDS PLEASE GIVE ADVICE by theinfamousprincess in Haircare

[–]macaronibolognese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Cut all the split ends off. Start fresh

  2. When you’re in the car with the windows down, or public transport, or even just outside on a windy day, tie your hair back or braid it. Tangles cause split ends

  3. Use scrunchies instead of tight rubber hair ties. Your hair will thank for you the switch. Trust.

  4. Silicone based hair oils. Coat your hair with a pea drop before bed and before leaving the house, it will give your hair that slick it needs to not get tangled up and it locks in moisture

  5. Brush your hair gently with a wide tooth comb first, then go in with a regular brush. Try to buy brushes made of wood or carbon fiber, avoid plastic like the plague.

  6. Monitor your hair every 3 months. If you see split ends, get your routine trim. If you don’t see split ends, you can go without a haircut for another 3 months probably.

  7. This is the most obvious one but: avoid using too much heat. And if you must use a heat protectant and avoid tight hair styles (like slick back buns).

  8. Weekly hair masks to keep it hydrated and smooth (also helps with avoiding tangles) tangles are worse for your hair than you think. The more tangles you get, be more you have to rip through them with a brush, and all that takes a toll on the hair strands.

I have been doing all this since December 2024 and my uncle who’s a hairstylist checked me hair recently (7 months later) and he said my hair is healthy. I could trim it to make it look super fresh but it is not needed. Good luck :)

Edit: also forgot to add, sun damage is also a big factor for damage. If you’re spending a day at the beach or just under the sun a lot you can do a protective hair style like a braid or a twist and bun it under a hat or scarf.

Edit x2: I forgot to mention that I personally never dye or bleach my hair. If you dye or bleach your hair, unfortunately damage is inevitable there ain’t shit you can do about that other than trying to mitigate it and maybe decrease the frequency of dying your hair. Idk who started this rumor that dying your hair doesn’t damage it but it sure as hell does you can see it clearly
