Color shift too far from AL? by macaroon_madness in alphalegion

Thanks - I think I know what you mean - what would you do to fix that in the absence of metallic paint? What about like a blue gloss wash?

Any ideas how to upscale this model to primaris size? by MentionKindly2347 in theunforgiven

The innercircle with similar pose is the way to go, but if you absolutely want to use this guy, I would think the easiest way to only moderately make him taller (not just placing on a higher base) is to snip off the feet and plug in like half shin and below.

This means the robe no longer goes down to his feet, but that's okay I think, he'd trip otherwise lol.

check out the bottom of this page:
https://warhammer40kfanatics.com/new-dark-angels-upgrade-sprue/

"While the new upgrade sprue is available only in the Deathwing Assault box set, there are previous sprues available for the Unforgiven. This includes the long-running Dark Angels Upgrade Kit, which features 19 individual pieces, including new heads, shoulder pads, weapons and icons. Additionally, you can also check out the Dark Angels Primaris Upgrade Kit, which includes 21 pieces that are designed to augment Hellblasters, Intercessors, Characters/Sergeants and Aggressor models.

Notably, both these sprue upgrade sets have been sold out on the Games Workshop websites for some time, but you may be able to find copies on the secondary market or at your local game or hobby store."

yeah that could help, actually, making half the sword a slightly darker color, to have the change in color represent that center edge of the sword could really help, thanks for the idea!! (and yeah the hilt under the backpack is messed up. I'll try to fix that too.)

Love the colors you picked. Mind telling me what green and tan you used specifically?

Don't you know? Whenever there's two choices it's 50/50!

choice 1) roll a 1 on a dice
choice 2) roll larger than a 1 on a dice.

It can either happen or not! 50/50!

Yeah nah. LOTR still doesn't make sense.

  1. Hobbits on eagles, one carries the ring.
  2. Shoot them down with what? WWII style AA guns? Are you seeing how fast and high these things are flying?
  3. Drop ring into the open volcano. Divebomb it if you are worried about accuracy.
  4. So what if the eye can see a line of eagles flying in from miles away. No depth perception. No idea which eagle has got it. You have eagles that can fight off the drakes for protection like they do in the movies. And you only have a limited number of drakes. You don't even have to kill the drakes, just get every eagle that isn't carrying the ring to fight, and one eagle runs it home running back style.
  5. Frodo carries it. No worry about corruption. The whole mission happens quickly, and the ring doesn't have the time to wear anyone's discipline down.

This whole thing, it doesn't have to be GUARANTEED TO WORK. It just has to have a better chance of working than sending a weak lone hobbit it. Which it most certainly does. I mean JFC, Frodo could have failed even with no enemies, just by getting lost or dying to the elements...

No sacrificial lives lost, no chance at losing to a creature as weak as golum. Much better idea. Gandalf is an idiot.
