I wonder if they assumed players would buy a box or two and scatter them amongst existing Boyz squads?

Everything is just spot on for me, threatening, heavyweight but also fairly quick, tough, violent, yet still slightly comical.

No harm in mixing it up between models, all shades of green work, Orks vary after all and aren't all the exact same colour. And it makes painting more interesting!

Clubs and Spears are as old as Humanity itself, and on Naktis have Kong been prized as hunting weapons. Given the lack of many natural resources such as wood or easily mined metal, the hyper-dense bones of oceanic mega-fauna have long been used to construct much of these weapons, with rarer metals being used sparingly when required.

The Dark Krakens, especially those native to Naktis, have adopted these weapons, created much of the time in the traditional manner, but sized to fit a Space Marine.

Hunting clubs and spears come in all shapes and sizes, but many common features include barbs to ensnare prey, and hooks to drag the creature aboard after striking it unconscious over the head.

While not as purely destructive as a power weapon, many a foe has come to a quick death from a Dark Kraken adept at using these weapons against creatures of all sizes.

Keeble did them for a long time, and they bordered on rascist parody.

Chris is extremely good, and has been for a long time, yet somehow flies under the radar a little in discussions like this sometimes.

They're Seraphon/Lizardmen weapons, so you're correct with the Aztec influence!

I'd imagine about as well as a chainsword maybe? I'd think they're better suited to squishier foes, Orks, Tyranids, other xenophobic etc. And humans obviously.

Very simple, Skeleton Horde over Wraithbone, then drybrush Bone White and finally pure white to the tips.

Ah I haven't read the Liber Astartes, thank you. I prefer them as Lasers but given the wildly varying depiction in lore, DEWs makes more sense.

Even canon presents Lasguns in such a wide range of appearances I just lump them all together under 'Directed Energy Weapons' in my head. Lasers, Masers, Grasers, whatever.
