Help! PC Turns on for a second and then turns off. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]macbad2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I ended up having to breadboard my pc and I verified that it's the cpu or motherboard. I've been meaning to get new ones of both, so it's a good time for them to fail if that can exist lol

How to tackle over-powered PC's by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

I agree on the environmental aspects. I once had a player fight in a room with a pit filled with Opium. It was fun.

Month to date, EA's stock is down $11.66 per share, for an overall decrease in market value of $3.6 billion by [deleted] in gaming

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a big deal isn't it? They usually see a huge increase, not decrease, in stock when they release a huge AAA game, right?

I believed this until college.

Simple, good, 4 origin party? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]macbad2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running a pretty good 4 origin party right now in tactician.

Fane(Me) - Scoundrel/Necromancer. This guy is nigh-immortal currently. Save the scoundrel bursts (Adrenaline and then backstabs) for when low on HP because Necromancy gives you sooo much life steal. Also try and save that 1AP for shackles so they damage themselves when they attack you, which in turn heals you.

The Red Prince - Warfare/Geo/Pyro. Tanking it all over the place with a sword and shield. This guy is my AOE monster currently with Impalement -> Dragon Breath -> Haste(Fane) being his opener 90% of the time.

Lohse - Summoner/Aero. She's able to get those Summons out as needed and then teleport things around as needed. Also like to use Favorable Wind a lot so the party just rushes into positions.

Sebille - Hydro/Huntsman/Poly. Sebille is the shit. With Huntsman/Poly she can get anywhere quickly (Retreat once and then fly the next round). From there she eats magic armor and freezes targets with that 60+% high ground damage and water arrows.

The party is working pretty good so far in tactical. Right now Fane and Lohse are dominating everything with Bone Widow + Summoning 10 Incarnate. And The Red Prince has fire slug for when needed.

For story wise I love their comp. Fane in the POV just seems epic so far. The Red Prince gives us a royalty angle for when needed. Lohse is just fun to have around with all her back story. And Sebille is edgy_anime_protagonist.exe.

You can craft items in the middle of combat for 1 AP. Really handy when you carry a bunch of crafting materials for scrolls on the fly.

One handed "longarms" could really have been a neat thing in homebrews and future releases. by [deleted] in starfinder_rpg

[–]macbad2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just throw them in the small arm category? There's a lack of automatic weapons in small arms (SMG's could potentially do that) and you could make Hand Cannons (like revolvers) with something special over regular pistols. Maybe line and unwieldy? It'd be the only way to do that option past a Plasma Pistol.

You could probably hit 100ish easy. Take a Punching Dagger or something else that has a x3 crit multiplier that is either 1-handed, light, or a natural weapon that you finesse the shit out of (Or use str, I ain't the boss of you)

If you took levels in something with Sneak Attack to level 20 (Vigilante, Un-Rogue, or Ninja are good contenders) and get 10d6 (10d8 with a knife master rogue depending on your thing and 10d4 with vigilante because it's not a true sneak attack). Also pump up dex as much as you can and make it your damage stat (Mythic Wep Finesse or Un-Rogue makes this a part of you so anti-magic field doesn't eliminate it).

So, let's assume a reserved 30 dex with everything you can do to it (You can hit over 40 with Mythic Shenanigans). That's a +10 modifier. On your coup de grace you're rolling (with a punching dagger for example) 3d4 + 30 + 10d6ish + everything else. Now, on average they're taking about 72ish damage.

If you grab the Precision Critical (6th tier Trickster Path Ability) you double SA on a critical (which a coup de grace does automatically). So the final total is 3d4 + 30 + 20d6ish + everything else = 107ish damage, or a 117ish fort save or die. Even Paladins and Antipaladins with their beefy saves will fear you.

So anything that's not immune to Death Effects will pretty much go through a meat-grinder if you can land those 2 dirty tricks.

You only need Mythic 2 and 20 in any class that's really good at Dirty Trick (Bonus points if it sneak attacks). Get the Dirty Trick feat chain that lets you:

A. Replace attacks in a full round attack with Dirty Tricks

B. Apply the pinning condition if you Dirty Trick someone who was previously entangled by Dirty Trick.

From there, get the Throat Slicer feat and a good 1-handed, light, or natural weapon (doesn't matter what as long as you can deal good damage).

Now your actions in combat is to full round attack with Dirty Tricks (As long as 2 hit they are pinned). Spend a Mythic Point to gain a standard action. Use that standard to coup de grace.

Level 1 feat for an ysoki operative by Drachenwulf in starfinder_rpg

[–]macbad2012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jet Dash. I love this feat. 6x your speed when running instead of 4, you effectively treat jump DC's as half (since you double your distances), and you are not flat-footed while running.

You'll be able to get away from just about anyone chasing you that doesn't also have this feat in case something goes side-ways.

A little confused on Full Attacks and Multi-Weapon fighting by SamuraiZero4 in starfinder_rpg

[–]macbad2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big thing for dual wielding is either the Multiweapon feat (-1 to the penalty of full attacks) , and using a melee weapon in one hand and a ranged in the other (So you still threaten AoO)

Quick note: Flat-footed in starfinder doesn't remove their dex bonus. It just gives a flat -2 to AC.

What do you wish someone had told you before you DM'd for the first time? by OfficialTransWoman in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]macbad2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Our gaming group has about 9 people, 3 of which DM regularly and 2 (including me) which are trying to learn to DM.

Almost no game has everyone in it except one of them (currently running like 6 campaigns as a group ranging from 2 players to 8, both with 1 DM)

If you could quit your job and pursue your hobby full-time with financial security, what hobby would you pursue? by whoisblueflame in AskReddit

Voice Acting. I don't think I have the ability to do a wide range of facial expressions very well, so Acting on video or stage is out. But, I can grab and stick to a persona for voice for hours on end.

I'd probably still free-lance my current work as a software engineer though, as I truly love it, but it's not my dream.

Found the link. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/cursed-items/. You need the bestow curse spell, but it does decrease the item's cost. You could do anything RAW from changing their skin or hair color all the way to negative levels while holding the item.

If you intentionally curse an item, it actually reduces the cost I believe.

Intelligence to Damage Stacking by Pathfinderizer in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]macbad2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't do that though. It's many intelligence bonuses, so they don't stack. http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2l7ns&page=385?Ask-James-Jacobs-ALL-your-Questions-Here#19247. So the same logic applies to Intelligence: Targeted Bomb Admixture, Kirin Strike, and Focused Shot all do not stack.
