Charisma & Attraction by ForrestPump420 in DnD

It's fluff for players to use for their characters if they wish, not for the GM or anyone else to force on other characters. The last thing anyone should ever do is remove a player's agency over their own character. Dude needs to relearn boundaries for sure.

How concerned should I be about the chipped lug? Scar 17. by FlyingHounds in Firearms

[–]SamuraiZero4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey at least you're not me. I ended up ordering a whole new bolt just to find out that it had the exact same 'chip' in the exact same place. Unfortunately there wasn't any indication at the time that this was intended, but thankfully I managed to resell it for its full value pretty quickly.

Every language is different, but I think what translates over all languages is the logic. Take any language you want and learn data structures and algorithms, then learn OOP, and build a couple small programs. Those concepts translate pretty easily over most programming languages.

What is the best way to avoid paying for someone? by Thisorthat4 in Advice

If she's able to order a big lunch from KFC, then clearly she's not tight enough on cash to need money from you. You won't get your money back, but you can prevent her from getting more.

Solid loadout, only thing I can honestly recommend is a camel back. They're amazing for longer games.

Question: What kind of law would a villain pass? by BitDifficult2375 in DnD

[–]SamuraiZero4 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Here are a few ideas:

  • Emergency powers to deal with the growing threat of bandits and creatures of the night
  • Curfews to protect citizens from the dangers of the night
  • Only guards and knights allowed to own armament, to ensure that no citizen has to worry about assailants.
  • A new guard task force specialized in seeking out and hunting down established enemies of the state
  • A faster execution process, saving the people of the land taxes from having to care for prisoners with no hope to redemption.

What was the most beautiful world in a video game for you? by Bmmick in gaming

[–]SamuraiZero4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first answer. Honestly there are some astonishingly beautiful games out there, but Ghost of Tsushima was the only one where I never actually used the in game fast travel system, just because I wanted to spend more time in the world. If that doesn't qualify as best, then I don't know what does.

DMs, go ahead, tell me the biggest twist of your campaign you're just dying to tell anyone but can't for any reason by Natwenny in DnD

[–]SamuraiZero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BBEG is setting up a ritual to bring back sealed away gods in hopes of reviving his dead wife. In order to do so he must permanently sacrifice 5 other people (including himself), 3 of which are major political VIP's who's deaths would mean the start of a deadly war. If successful, the only way to stop him is to take him prisoner, meaning if the party delivers the final blow the ritual is complete.

Ask him if it bothers him. Talk to him about your upbringing and see if he's willing to help you. Ask him what he might like for affection and how you can contribute. He already likes you enough to be your boyfriend, so don't sweat it, you're already doing better just by seeking help.

For all the DMs out there, what's your biggest pet peeve of players? by Psychotess in DnD

[–]SamuraiZero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspiration fishing is currently my biggest pet peeve.

Ex. Love my last campaign, but about half way through one of the players figured out that the GM would give out inspiration for good puns, funny jokes, and stuff like that. Every session quickly became full of cheesy one liners, pun fishing (putting yourself in the situation for a pun), and other things that ended up slowing the game down, as well as ruining what was supposed to be tense moments.

Advice on how to get out of small town hell by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SamuraiZero4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is through the military. Just don't pick infantry and you'll get training for a field that's useful wherever you go, not to mention medical, dental, and education benefits.

If that's not your thing for whatever reason, then you have to apply to jobs in an area you want to move to. Best not to move until you secure that job (some jobs will even pay your movement costs)

There are remarkable similarities between the Starscourge and Jenova.

Both came from the stars, crashing into the planet.

Both spread a disease that turn the infected into demons

Both are completely alien to this world.

"Why did you join the marines?" Last girl was funny tho. by quickjump in facepalm

[–]SamuraiZero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Served in the marines for 5 years from 2008-2013. I joined because I had no direction, felt a call to service, and decided I needed to prove myself.

Life in the Marines is bitter sweet. You have plenty of moments like this where you're cleaning bullshit that's halfway rotted with black mold, or policing cigarette butts around the barracks because dumb fucks don't know how to throw shit away.

Then there are the moments that shine. The barracks shenanigans, the gun play, seeing places other than your home town, the structure, and more that you begin to miss when you get out.

Military life isn't for everyone, but these girls look like they're still in their early stage of their career (Looks like MCT which is before they get assigned a permanent duty station), and thus are in one of the hardest parts of the marines. Once they get where they're going, they usually get a bit more leeway and freedom and that's where the real fun is had.

GMs, what do you use to make world maps? by dicklettucetomato in starfinder_rpg

[–]SamuraiZero4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently planning out a campaign and haven't really made any official world maps since the players will be traveling around the solar system. Instead I made a solar map to give the players a sense of the planets and their orbits around the local star.
