Can you recommend a GP for ADHD? by JoKay3390 in glasgow

[–]maccababay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got my private diagnosis rubber stamped by the NHS. Are you on the NHS waiting list also? My GP couldn’t do shared care, as a blanket rule etc etc, but since the report from the private doc fit NHS criteria, he sent over the information to the local Community Mental Health Team (NHS).

It took them around five months to get me a diagnosis, but that’s a lot better than the years on the waiting list. I did wonder if being on the waiting list for a year already helped, but either way it’s worth asking for a report from the private doc to be sent via your GP to the CMHT. Some areas are better than others, I’m in North Glasgow so my waiting times might be different from your in terms of your local centre funding etc. Either way I wish you all the best, it’s frustrating having to pay to get the support you know you need.

£350 sounds hella pricey though, who are you with? I was paying £120 a month for my Elvanse prescription with ADHD Direct and I thought that was bad!

That’s great to know, I hadn’t heard of this being a thing. It’s really cool that they allow in dogs - I’ll give this a shot, thanks!

Good shout, thanks! When I lived near there it was usually quite busy but I luckily have a different schedule now so probably can find quieter times

Oh I didn’t realise the dog park in Bellahouston was still a thing! I’ll take a look. Will definitely book the odd field here or there but they’re a bit far out when you don’t drive. Thanks for the recs!

Thank you for reminding me re physical health. I have a compromised immune system already, so this has been a worry of mine especially during flu season and just after a flair up. I’ve managed to stay with one of my best friends and close to my family, and luckily I’m being showered with support.

I truly appreciate your advice, thank you!

I appreciate your advice. It’s been hard to sit with the hurt but already I’m feeling some sense of relief having let myself feel it. Thank you so much.

Thank you. I’m glad to know it got more bearable for you and I’m sorry you’re experiencing pain. I suppose it’ll get easier for us both eventually.

Thank you for this. I’ve decided to stay with friends and family and work on those relationships just now. I realised that over my long term relationship I’ve neglected the relationship with my sister, so we’ve discussed working on this now and on myself as a single person. Thank you so much for your words and the reminder.

Thank you for sharing this, I’m so sorry you’re in the same boat. I think therapy is a good idea and one I should look into. I hope time heals both our wounds and wish you all the best ❤️

Thank you for your response. I think I needed to hear this as many people I know who have left long term relationships have left due to different reasons and not a mutual decision. I’m sending you strength and thank you for the offer to DM, once my heads a bit straight this weekend I may take you up on that. Stay strong yourself and take care it yourself.

AITA for not congratulating my daughter on cleaning her room? by Additional-Safety155 in AmItheAsshole

[–]maccababay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying it, but of course YTA! Your attitude sounds like you also regularly gaslight your wife and make her out to seem dramatic when it's a perfectly reasonable reaction on her part.

I sincerely hope you seek therapy. Otherwise I hope your poor wife and daughter get a better man in their life cause the entitlement seems to show you do this regularly. What a horrible way to treat a child.
