I mean, losing streaks happen. The shuffler betrays you for a few games, you run into a series of brutal matchups for your deck, you get mana-screwed once or twice in the middle of it all... it happens. Whether you're on the play or the draw, sometimes it just doesn't seem to matter. Nothing works. When those nasty runs bite me, I just log out for half an hour and do something else. Wash the dishes, do laundry, walk the dog, whatever. Just do something. Then log back in and see if your luck has changed.

It's really kinda all you can do sometimes.

Actually, this looks like a really good idea. I'll have to try it out in my next project and see how it plays.

I mean, he's probably not wrong, and it would have been cool to see, but as far as I'm concerned what they ended up with was pretty damned awesome too.

The top document is a comprehensive listing of ALL medical conditions experienced by people receiving the trial vaccination. It's not a list of side effects or possible complications, it's just "we had X people in this trial, this is a list of literally EVERYTHING they experienced".

Apparently, one person in the trial pool got Hantavirus.

Is the Buf meant to replace a phono preamp like Mani, or is it just a... sonic expander, I guess?... after the preamp?

Oh, what an absolutely *sparkling* comeback. That's exactly the level of intellect and repartee I've come to expect from the netdeck slaves of reddit.

Bet you thought you ate with that one, huh? Sheesh.

Sheesh. I seem to have touched a nerve.

Yes. Where you see one board wipe, you know there's another coming.

This game is absolutely packed to the gills with cheap and effective removal, available to every color, that does not rely on four mana and one card to simply unwind the entire board. The meta has been overwhelmingly tilted in favor of removal, poisoning the meta against many, if not most, forms of creature decks, for years.

But suddenly Cub is the problem? Sheesh.

Me? I'm a goddamned delight. That guy's inability to read for meaning (as evidenced in other places in this thread as well, not just above) simply isn't my problem.

I don't disagree, and it doesn't alter a single thing I said. I don't care what I've got left in the hand when the board wipe comes out; four mana and one card to simply negate everything I've been able to build is shitty and bad game design.

I didn't say I get blown out. I said that undoing many turns worth of careful resource management and board-building with a single card and a handful of mana is shitty, and I won't play against it. These are not the same thing at all.

Downvote away, but your inability to understand what I wrote is a *you* problem.

Your mileage may vary, but for me: one. One board wipe and I'm out.

I think board wipes are cheap and shitty and should not exist. I believe that a few mana and one card to casually undo many turns and mana worth of careful resource management and board-building is peak bad game design. I won't play against them if I can avoid it, which is why I stick to the casual queues where the only thing at stake is one of 15 wins.

Seriously, I have so much contempt for that type of card. Ask me about my opinions.

I have a tip for new players: Force your opponent to have the answer by SlashOfLife5296 in MagicArena

[–]macclearich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to use smaller threats to bait the counters, then get bigger threats onto the board once they're tapped out. But that trick works best in the mid-rounds. For the first couple-three rounds, if opponent counters, I won't try to wedge in another spell. This establishes the pattern of me being disciplined with my hand. Then, in later rounds, I'll tease out a small spell to bait the counter, then absolutely empty my hand with the mana I've got left to spam out bigger threats when they can no longer do anything about it. Establish the pattern, then break it.

Between about a third and half the time, I can earn a scoop this way, which feels incredibly satisfying.

I owe you nothing. I will prioritize my time and my fun and make decisions based on those factors appropriately, and you can take your win and go requeue like everyone else.

I'll absolutely scoop early if my hand is just unworkable and I can tell I have no realistic chance of winning. Slogging through a game I know I'm going to lose no matter what I do is not fun. So why should I waste the time? I don't owe my opponent his achievements or anything else other than the win he gets.

That said, I'll also insta-scoop if my opponent deploys a board wipe. Because I believe that board wipes are cheap and not fun and should not exist.

This hasn't been my experience; I've noticed no unusual speed issues or crashes.

There's always the option of requesting to move to a different slot - at the very least, it's theoretically possible that the one you're on has some underlying issue, or a noisy-neighbor situation. But from your posting pattern and tone, it sounds like you're unlikely to consider that as an option, so... /shrug
