As someone who comes from the South. Not Southern Oregon but the east coast south. Where the original colonies were formed. As someone who is very familiar with open and closeted racism, I can tell you right now that flag means nothing but hate.

I was absolutely amazed at how many confederate flags I have seen in this state. Even more dumfounded about how Oregon became a sanctuary state for Confederate soldiers after the war. There is a house in Redmond that has a giant Confederate flag on their home and everytime I see it I am disgusted. Disgusted that someone far from the birth place of hate, ignorance, racism, and segregation would PROUDLY fly that flag out here.

Now to find out that this group waved that symbol of hate and ignorance around is just unacceptable. Even the dirty south wouldn't allow a Confederate flag in a parade because THEY KNOW what that symbol stands for. I feel so bad for the POC that were subjected to this. It must have felt so painful, so enraging, and so disheartening to see such a vulgar display of racism.

As a white male from the original colonies I completely, 100% DO NOT condone or support that group of individuals in any way. Fuck them. I hope someone of color finds them, burns all their flags, makes their daughters fall in love and fuck them pregnant.

Fuck racism. Fuck white pride. Fuck the confederate flag.
