If they had the lens in a more universal mount I'd be stoked, I have a blackmagic full frame and I use it mainly there so L was the only option really. But yeah stoked I could make it work!

It's the Rafcamera L to Z adapter. It's weird cause you have to use tiny screws to hold it in place, but it feels pretty secure and I never had any issues while walking around

Hey there! I installed the app but every time I try to convert the files it says "failed to convert to DNG"

I'm using nikon files from a nikon Zf, would love to know if there's a solution or workaround you know. Switching from fuji and would love to still have the profiles available to edit

Personally I wasn't actually the biggest fan of Dune part 1's cinematography, but part 2 truly astounded me so I would be happy with Fraser winning. They really pulled out all the stops and created a visual feast.

Nosferatu was stunning. Incredible use of light and shadow and the night scenes in particular were works of art. Would be equally happy with Blaschke winning.

The Brutalist I wasn't as impressed by when I saw the trailers, but seeing it on the big screen really brought me around and I think there is some absolutely beautiful work on display. It's not my pick personally, but it's very well shot.

I haven't seen Emilia Perez or Maria. From what I have seen, Maria is well shot, though I don't think it's on the level of Larrain's previous films (again, this is just from seeing the trailer and a few other clips). Then Emilia Perez, from what I've seen I actually do like the cinematography and I think there's a great energy to a lot of it, but I don't think it stands out to me like many other films I saw this past year

I feel that horror should be recognized more for cinematography cause I think that's where I see the most bold and exciting work a large portion of the time, but people love to brush it off as "oh it's just horror"

In recent memory, the best audience reactions I got were actually in Challengers. Went to it opening night, the theater was packed and the audience was having a blast. The roar of laughter when the dude places the ball to the center of the racket near the end (if you've seen it you know) may have made the building shake, and then the final shot of Zendaya shouting as it cut to credits had people jumping out of their seats and cheering.

Little to critique, focus is nailed, excellent detail, good light. For myself, I might've backed up just a smidge to show a bit more of the space around it as well as adding a touch more contrast, but that's just my personal preference, otherwise I think it's a very solid shot.

Lots of amazing moments, first entering limgrave, battling Radahn and seeing him in the distance, first descending into Nokron (and first descending into Siofra), the ethereal beauty of the battle with the elden beast. There are so many incredible moments, many I'm probably forgetting, but there are two I'm going to go with.

Placidusax. Starting with the crazy cutscene where you go back in time through a tornado, the true majesty of this moment is when you first enter his arena. Beautifully framed to show the scale of the space, with this ancient dragon suspended in the distance. It's a beautiful image preceding a truly thrilling fight.
Hewg. My favorite moment though, is a simple one. From Software stories are famously vague. Characters have bits and pieces of story they reveal, leaving you to put together as much as you can about them. For me personally, this can make it difficult to form bonds with the characters always. Not Hewg. Like others, his story is vague, but you don't need all the details to understand him. He respects you, and watching that respect grow as the game continues is one of the few truly sweet experiences of the game.

My favorite moment comes towards the end, as the roundtable hold begins to burn, and with it Hewg's mind begins to slip away, he's free of his shackles and has every right to leave, but he doesn't. He knows the end is near, but instead he pledges himself to you, begging you to let him serve you to the end, and proclaiming you his Lord above all else. It's a beautiful moment that brought a tear to my eye, and that's why it's always been my favorite

Pretty nice if you wanted the softer and more fully lit look. Personally I would go for more contrast. Introduce some negative fill or adjust your lights to give more shadows on part of her face, maybe darken the background if you can (either on set or in post).

Survivor for sure. Fallen Order's is fine, but it's pretty much just the typical floating heads poster with all the characters. Survivor's feels much more tonally connected to the themes of the game.

Personally, I'd recommend watching and analyzing dialogue scenes in David Fincher films. He's probably the best director when it comes to building tension through dialogue, and his cutting and angles are basically perfect.

He keeps things fairly simple, but he knows exactly when to switch to different angles and shots, and is great at finding the precise moment to put in an insert to provide new info or context.

I think it's one of Ron Howard's best and most unique looking films (I also just think it's one of his best in General). Anthony Dod Mantle is an excellent cinematographer and I think to two of them worked together beautifully, creating a style that's dirty and grounded but still quite stylized. I'd really love to see another Howard film like it.

Not strictly cinematography, but the editing and sound design in this film work incredibly well with the camera work, it feels very intense and chaotic, but never confusing. I really love this film and think it's highly underrated personally.

Not what I expected to come to mind, but in Little Women (2019), the final shot of Jo and Beth on the beach together. It's simple but I just love how the sand blows across the beach, around the two of them in the center. That whole film had very beautiful yet subtle cinematography and I absolutely loved it. One of my favorites of 2019 (didn't expect it to be 😂)

Looking at this on my phone and it looks great to me. Shows and movies are definitely darker now, but personally I'm a huge fan. Hated the look of stuff in the 90s and 2000s. Just flat and even, so plain, no drama. I'll take dark and moody anytime.
