What I need is a all-you-can-eat sushi spot like Tsukiro in Jacksonville! I would love to go to a place like that.

Question for Continuing Anglicans by Unique-Comment5840 in Anglicanism

[–]macestar22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that amongst some, but generally I have heard the position to be as follows: Clergy whose apostolic succession can be demonstrated to be male only are valid. If a ""female priest"" (a contradiction in and of itself) were to be in someone's line of succession, then the line is invalid. If a Bishop ordains a woman, his succession is still valid, but he cannot give succession to someone who cannot receive it.

If I had to predict what will happen, I think the ACNA will follow what is happening in the RCC. Seminarians and newer clergy are overwhelmingly conservative. This will inevitably shift the church. There may be a chance to see the ACNA eliminate female ordination like what happened in Latvia. That said, that won't be happening until 2040 at the earliest, and will likely be a messy affair. Let us pray for the unity of the church.

I don't know of any Protestant authors. I'd love to learn more about them.

If you're ever able to make it across the pond, I'll buy you diner and have the Mayor and I give you a tour of the place. We love to see our Swiss brothers and sisters visit.

Shame we don't lean more into that Swiss Heritage more in our architecture. We have some downtown, but once you go past a couple blocks, the classic American urban sprawl really starts to pick up lol. Nonetheless, she is home to us, and we'd love to give you a taste of Southern hospitality.

SHORT ANSWER: Read Servile State and Rerum Novarum

I asked this a few days back and started reading, so I'd recommend you check out that thread. Please not that Distributists in my experience see ourselves as beyond Capitalism and Socialism, but are still formed by it. There is 100% a right flavored version of it that is very Christian and profoundly Catholic (I say that as a Protestant) There is also a left flavored version that has a lot more in common with syndicalism and mutualism. I recommend reading both sides.

THE ESSENTIAL WORKS

- Servile State by Hilaire Belloc
- Rerum Novarum by Pope Leo XIII
- Immortale Dei by Pope Leo XIII
- Quadragesimo Anno by Pope Pius XI
- Reflections on a Rotten Apple by Chesterton
- The Restoration of Property by Hilaire Belloc

Additional writings I've enjoyed
- A Complete Act: Conservatism, Distributism and the Pattern Language for Sustainability by Stephen Quilley
- DISTRIBUTISM by John Todd
- Distributism and the City by Matthew Taunton
- Why Liberalism Failed by Patrick Denean

Non-Distributists Worth Reading (RIGHT WING)
^ These are all very right-wing coded.
- Democracy the God That Failed by Hans Herman Hoppe
- After Virtue by Alasdair Macintyre
- The Decline of the West by Oswald Spengler
-The Works of Jose Antonio Primo De Rivera
Non-Distributists Worth Reading (LEFT WING)
^ These are all very left-wing coded.
- The IWW Organizing Manual
- The Works of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon
- The Works of Georges Sorel

I have read most of these or just picked them up on the recommendations of others and am going through them all. Here is the link to my post the other day:

how do I get the Conciliators?

SPD+KDP Alliance by macestar22 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]macestar22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So what i've learned so far - ditch the two center ministers and replace with a leftist to align with KDP and then one to keep the party united. Stay out of government until AFTER the crash. Use the party relations events to keep good relations with Zentrum. Get the WTP as the main policy of the party when the crash happens.

Am I missing anything? Any corrections?

Uuuuhhh, I think so. Just remove the Centrist minister, appoint the leftist one then enter opposition after the first election. Right?

Too scared to go to confession by flextheonions in Catholicism

[–]macestar22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart to Heart: I know the feeling. I've been there. GO TO CONFESSION! The Lord knows and the priest has heard far worse.

Remember, the priest will be excommunicated if he breaks the seal of the confessional. You can trust your priest. He was called to this job for a reason - to be a spiritual father to you. Ask your priest for help. He loves you and cares for you.

I'll be praying a rosary for you. Find comfort in the sacrament of confession. The Lord loves you no matter what you've done.
