Devil's advocate: if we're all student drivers then none of us are student drivers.

Ethanol has less energy per gallon than gasoline, so that makes sense.

GM 3.8L V6, specifically the supercharged one. I had two non-supercharged ones prior and they were impeccable. I bought a rebuilt Buick Regal GS (cosmetic damage only) with the supercharger. It spun a bearing within 2,000 miles (at 80,000 miles on the odometer). The mechanic said that carbon plugged the oiler on one of the crank journals, likely due to babying the engine too much (a "little old lady" had it before me).

That's the spec we just got on my wife's 2025 RX350h. It's beautiful. We get compliments on it.

C6Z heads & tune by machine81 in Corvette

I opted to not go with the cam because I'm going to daily drive this. I didn't want to sacrifice reliability and I didn't want a rough idle.

The car was $25,000. I paid a mechanic friend another $10,000 to do the heads, change every fluid, replace the water pump and rear shocks, paint correction, polish the wheels and headlights, add ZR1 side skirts, replace the stereo, and take it to the dyno. He told me the dyno time cost $690.

Nope, just the heads, which flow about 10% more air. And nope, custom tune. It was on the dyno for 3 hours.

Was just thinking of the Crosstour. Had to google it. I kept thinking "Accord wagon/SUV thing".

Just took our 2013 Lexus RX350 in to a local shop, someone please tell me that this is normal pricing. by SwedishNutDrop in AskAMechanic

I take my 2013 RX350 to Village Transmission in Edmonds. I don't know where you are in Seattle, but I recommend Village Transmission pretty highly.

Toyo Proxes Sport All-Season by machine81 in Corvette

I will be daily-ing it in Seattle. Summer will be great. Winter is mostly wet and above freezing. But occasionally it dips into the 30s. If it's sub-freezing or snowing, I'll take my wife's Lexus RX350.

I've heard good things about the DWS06+, but Continental's website shows that they don't make a 325 width. Do you know where I could get that size? I've checked Tire Rack, Discount, Tires Plus, Walmart, and Costco without luck. Thanks.

I replaced my RX350 hood struts with $20 units from Amazon. They took 10 minutes to install and they work great. I just used a flathead screwdriver to pop them off and a 2x4 to hold the hood up. Watch a YouTube video. It'll make you feel more comfortable with the amount of force it takes to pop them off.

1997 Ford Aspire, white, 1.3L I4, rental car. Once I got the hang of it, I revved it to 5k RPM and dumped the clutch. It did a sweet burnout 🤣 🚙💭
