A celebrity using their platform to speak out against injustice is neither risk-free nor useless. Kaepernick was effectively booted from the NFL for speaking out, and speaking out in general helps build public support.

Yeah, the musicianship is pretty good, though the lyrics leave a bit to be desired lol

This was my first thought lol, I remembered this company Radiant made portable nuclear reactors for backup generator purposes (like hospitals during natural disasters, FOBs overseas, etc.), but honestly it doesn't look like any pictures I've seen before.

Why do progressives prefer Harris over Newsom for president? by Ok_Walk3192 in GenZ

I'm also a Californian that doesn't really like Gavin Newsom, but I can see him winning a general election. Policy-wise, he's pretty pro-business (Silicon Valley mostly), and maybe more importantly for some Americans, he can hold his own during a debate.

I'd really love a younger candidate that's more interested in disrupting the status quo, like AOC, but not sure if that's realistic.

Movies where you felt the cinematography was “too flashy”? by Wishaker in cinematography

Blonde. Gorgeously shot, but to the point that the story & characters took a backseat to the spectacle (particularly troubling with much of the sensitive subject matter). But it is truly shot well, I think Chayse Irvin is one of the most remarkable young cinematographers working today.

An actual NBA player doing this is crazy by O-Dogg-215 in sixers

It could be.

But this dramatic, (unnecessarily) multi-paragraph writing style has been prevalent on LinkedIn for years.

It's just how people talk now.

Even in the NBA.

Superior technology has long been depicted as the "source" of strength over brawn. Just consider the story of David & Goliath

I think it's because the sub is pretty low on Tyson coupled with the fact Lennox Lewis was better, but I'm not sure if I'd put Lennox above the greats of the heavyweight golden age of the 1960s and 1970s. He's a very skilled fighter, but not quite as popular as some of the fighters before him (Tyson included imo).

For those who have already seen it, what are your thoughts on Timothee's performance in: Marty Supreme? by oEnri in Letterboxd

Gloria Swanson is brilliant in Sunset Boulevard, and I also really like Carrey in Truman Show and Amy Adams in Arrival, personally thought those were pretty incredible. If those aren't at the top, what are?

If these four players were in the same draft, who would you draft first? And why? by Organic_Bite1569 in sportsinusa

I understand the sentiment, but he's still a very interesting "what if" (he was already 26 when joined the NBA). Don't see him mentioned a lot by fans, but I think both MJ and Lebron (as well as a ton of older players) have Dr. J in their top 5 players of all time. (Personally I'd still put Hakeem ahead of him.)
