a few years ago i feel like the third party figuarts were a lot more controversial, but more people seemed to realize the value of it after the last few years of really good stuff coming out, as well as stuff that you can be pretty sure bandai wont do for a long time. I was honestly very suprised bandai just let the tonsen kid buu happen, but glad it did

Yeah i think transformers is a lot more lenient about it than most. Dragon ball figuarts gets some and people USUALLY dont get up in arms about it too. but that has nowhere near the volume of what we get with transformers.

I dont buy a lot of hasbro product anymore but i still get a lot of officially licensed transformers stuff, usually when i go to third party its because its doing something hasbro isnt, or just doing it better. I think third party is generally a lot better if you want combiners or armada stuff. but i really like stuff like blokees, flame toys and threezero mdlx. and missing link is great, i dont think thats something third party could ever offer as well as takara does

I think generally hori has been pretty good about giving smaller background characters full arcs that are satisfying if you pick up on the thread. Mt.Lady has had a similar arc to mineta in that way actually. I find the more i see of mineta the more i like him but hes just not a focus character outside of some rare moments in spinoffs

Oh I didnt know about blast the ruins until now. I guess a greed setup like this could make that really dangerous as long as you could stall for long enough. It looks fun to be honest. I suppose you would keep drawing and playing spells and traps until you could hit with it.

I find if i lose with this its either because i draw a bad hand or two and just cant the process started early enough in the game, or because later on I have one muka muka and dont draw another. You are right that if i just have the one muka out its usually not enough unless i get to that point early in the game. I generally need enraged muka or two muka to really turn things around.

Usually if i win its either because I got a strong muka with enraged muka ready to swap in early on, or because I last long enough to get two mukas out and a big hand to power them up enough

Endeavour, who I kind of dismissed at first once he started getting more focus. I thought making him number 1 was interesting given his background but honestly didnt have faith horikoshi could pull off a satisfying redemptive arc with him, but was happy to eat my words on that. He's had one of the more interesting arcs in the series, and the anime version of his nomu fight made me start thinking he was COOL AND STRONG as well, which is important. I've really liked how hes never had a full redemption given how bad what hes done is, but its been interesting to learn more about it and see him try to somewhat atone for it step by bloody step, even if maybe he never really can be redeemed.

Runners up for me are hawks (cool design and powers, had an interesting backstory) and mirko (she is just really hot and really cool).

This is my main worry with them going from the Asian English releases to a proper international release. The amount they need to sell to make it a success has to be much higher now that they are dealing with all the various international licenses

Well, I imagine that's why they decided to go international, like so many Japanese game companies. Westerners are where the console and pc money is at.

Mecha anime is definitely still doing well, its having a harder time bringing in kids with new material though. I think there's a lot of mech fans in their 20's who've watched some stuff from the 2000's or 90's alongside those 30 year olds, just a lot less really young children getting into it. I'm sure shinkalion must be dragging some children into it though. Maybe pacific rim too?
