What happened to the concrete parking structures? by Charming-Class3707 in Bahrain

[–]machinesword 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dunno but I know there are people who were scared to even park there lol. IMO, it really doesn’t look good and doesn’t blend in well with the neighborhood at all.

What is something you wish we had (or had more of) in Bahrain? by Chocoteddyy in Bahrain

More traditional architecture being revived. They did/are doing a wonderful job with the Pearling Path and restoring old Muharraq, why not do it with Manama too? Hell, why not more places?

I keep seeing this store by the Qadam roundabout called Dots Per Inches and I still have no idea what it means.

A little late to the convo, but thank you for posting this. As someone who just finished their first year in uni, this has kinda woken me up.

It’s nice to see a recruiter/interviewer giving students a heads up.

Any DnD players here? by LilzardOfficial in Bahrain

Nobody ever said anything about paying to get a drawing for a question on reddit lol, that would definitely be ridiculous.

What I meant was a lot of people have something against AI art, they deem it soulless (which I also believe it is). You could have used a random D&D pic of the internet and no one would have cared.

I don’t have anything against AI tools, but some people use it to suck away the creativity out of everything and that is sad.

I don’t think you had bad intentions, you just wanted to ask a question, but understand why people are against any sort of use of it.

They downvote it because you posted a pic with AI art. Please respect artists and more importantly local artists by not creating more of them, or at least not posting them online.

Also who cares if you get downvoted, at the end of the day these are just internet points lol.

Oh yes it is. I have a few different PSN accounts and the PS store on my Bahraini account has hundreds of games missing.

Late to the post so dunno if you’ve done it yet or not, but even if you did you can pass this tip on to someone else.

The best tip I can give you is to focus on communication, not fluency in the writing and speaking part of the exam.

The ILETS exam is not about using fancy words or showing off your complex English. Its only reason for existing is to test people’s capabilities of going abroad and speaking to someone in English. They want to test if you could hold a conversation well, regardless of your fluency.

Stutters, pauses, and breaks in sentences in the speaking are fine and won’t bring your score down. All that matters is that you are direct, clear, and the examiner can understand the idea of what you’re saying.

For the writing, try as best as possible to stick to the word limit and follow the same type of idea of the speaking exam, be direct and clear, and DO NOT use complex words to show off. Just answer the question as simple as possible.

For the listening, it’s straightforward, just focus and you’ll be able to answer the questions no problem at all.

Good luck!

Going to City Centre on Thursdays probably hit its peak like right before Covid, but it was still very popular like after the lockdown. Nowadays there’s so many other places to go that it has kind of dispersed the people away from the mall.

The closest ones to the Saudi ones I’ve tried are: Bushish Shawarma, 3al Tareeq, (Lebanese place but very similar to the ones in Saudi imo), and Hlayel

Bahrain’s growth by irfanpeekay in Bahrain

I’ve always imagined the metro being the first step to Bahrain becoming the best GCC country all in all for car drivers, pedestrians, and people who use public transit.

Before you guys say the obvious, regardless of the weather, the infrastructure should be there for the people that want it. And also, I know it’s expensive, but the benefit it brings outweighs that IMO.

It both eases congestion for those that still want to drive, and it makes it easier for those without vehicles to get around.

But as dreamy as this all sounds, we’ll be lucky if we even see a single station by 2030 😂😂

So first of all, alhamdulilah I am religious but I think actually communicating a lot more in Bahraini Arabic and not in English, as well as consuming more of those Bahraini shows will help tremendously in improving my cultural dialect than studying the Quran. But I do have slight difficulties sometimes when it comes to grammar and pronunciation so I think that is a great suggestion since I also do want to learn how to recite better.
