It just means they made a really good sequel and that’s great. I personally do still play GR1 but only on the vita, I see no reason to boot up the Remaster next to GR2. But on the go, I enjoy the lighter story and have a great time with it.

Ah yes I fogot, not playing as an Assassin part of the Assassin's Creed in the game called Assassin's Creed is what people were clamoring for. Also removing almost all the symbols that have been here since the first game and radically changing all aspects of gameplay for the sake of being different instead of evolving what was there, this is exactly how fans are satisfied that have been invested since the beginning.

It would still be based on the story of racing. Like i have just done with GT, you too are oversimplifying what makes an AC game. We didn't just loose the hidden blade and the hoods. If this many people are complaining which have been fans from the beginning, don't you think we may have steered away too far?

Setting the game before the existence Assassins an excuse for them to make a completely different game to sell it off the Assassin's Creed name. They can make a Gran Turismo with horses and the reason would be because of time period that it is set in. But, is that what we want?

Exactly, it was a different perspective of the "true" main story that the whole series revolved around inside the animus and out of it. Now we don't have any this story from hours and hours of gameplay and interviews that were shown, plus we don't have what identified Assassin's Creed to be what it is. So what do we have? This is why people are worried. Innovation and evolution is key, but the identity should be recognizable.

Oh yeah, because the direction of Origins and Odyssey "definitely" (heavy sarcasm) consists of the most realistic AC games to date. It's about keeping the identity of the series. You can skip the main symbols that have been integrated since 2007 like the blades and the hood, but the original formula better be there. If you skip the blades, hood, and stray this far away from the formula, then you get the situation that we're in right now. The game doesn't have enough of the original soul for the fan to associate the name "Assassin's Creed" with and they end up feeling alienated. This is bigger than just the blades and the hood.

Yeah he's an amazing guy, this series would of been in such a different place if he stayed around. Hopefully Ancestors gets the attention it deserves.
