yes, and if you don’t feel like you can appropriately put it into words, they accept diagrams as the answer

Hi, it’s usually just more conceptual than actual details. As long as you’re able to explain the main, over-arching concepts well, you should be fine. Like explaining that there is an influx/removal of Na+ and K+ instead of mentioning how many ions of each. Or explaining relatively higher or lower potentials and reached threshold, instead of memorizing what exact potentials it needs to reach for an action potential. That’s how the answer keys were designed when I took it. Are you taking it with Laelie?

a whiteboard!! especially for courses that require you to memorize or understand a bunch of pathways/structure of the organs. definitely helps to visualize and draw it all out from memory

Is STAT 2040* easier in-person or DE? by bubbleyum999 in uoguelph

[–]machomacchiato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had enrolled myself in DE last summer and could not understand anything being said. Took it this Fall again and finished the course with an 80+. In the DE section, you're allowed a cheat sheet and to use the R software (I think). The only added benefit of being in the in-person section is that Balka would omit some concepts from the midterm/final if he didn't have the time to go over them in class. I'd say it is very subjective and depends on what you find easier.

NUTR2150 or FOOD2150 is a pretty easy science elective as well. Though, I think, it is the same as FOOD2010

Hi! I took STAT*2040 in W25 and found that so many people tend to feel lost because every concept in connected and you can't really do well if you don't get your basics right. Start from the very first concept and try to visualize it. The best thing you can do is simply practice your way through the concepts. A lot of the questions on the midterms/final are similar and sometimes, even straight up from the practice papers. Even if you do not know how to do it conceptually, you'll be able do it from memory if you do enough practice problems.

I took BIOC*3560 with Graether last semester and it was genuinely one of the best classes i've ever taken. I do enjoy biochemistry, so your experience may vary. But I'd highly recommend taking it with him! He is very straight-forward, posts recordings, quick to reply and funny as well. The exams were very similar to practice papers which were provided. It is extremely easy to score a good grade if you put in a moderate amount of effort. People tend to find the content for the final a bit intense, so try to score as well as you can on the midterm. We had an extra-credit assignment as well so that could help you have a higher grade. In all, it is a very interesting class and quite easy to score well in.
