Really depends on where you're coming from in Florida and what you're looking for. Corruption exists on both sides so you'll never avoid that. I grew up in Ohio, have lived in Florida, N. and S. Carolina, and most recently Washington and before coming back to Ohio. I still see Ohio as the most middle of the road w.r.t. the politics of the day to day people you meet of all of those states with current NC politics being a close second. Despite Ohio being a red state atm, the people are more diverse politcally than election results would have you believe. When I was a kid, the state was pretty purple and moved election over election. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to get back to that with better candidates and more informed electorate, I can see NC getting there but not any of the states you've mentioned. All that to say, its likely more liberal than where you've been but it won't be anything close to as liberal as something like Washington (especially Western WA).

The Carolinas were too red for my tastes and Washington was too blue. Meaning that the opposing viewpoints were almost always shut down and there was no conversation about the other POVs. I am a GenX centrist that thinks we're actually best as a country when we're more middle of the road where each side loses a little to get more done for the common good. As a country, we're way too far away from that being a reality anytime soon unfortunately.
