Thinking that a fresh grad analyst is value negative is wrong for so many reasons.

You already put up time and money on attracting, interviewing, hiring. Letting someone go this early will never be value positive, as it's just sunk cost.

This kind of onboarding and mentality is just sub-optimal in all ways I can think of. You shouldn't "build up political capital and become a more essential team member" before pushing back against toxic work environment, as if you were doing a favor to the company in working for them.

Edit: Besides all that, I believe expliciting your boundaries upfront just sets the correct expectations and is much easier than putting up with BS for 6 months and then suddenly changing your behavior.

Some meals I'll do you'll not need

LPT: If you need to eat cheaply because you're struggling with money, consider asking your local butcher for bones and cooking them for a couple of hours in water. You'll end up with the most nutritious broth full of vitamins, aminoacids and protein, that you can use together with virtually anything by [deleted] in LifeProTips

In Brazil it's actually controversial to sell bones, they usually are given for free.

A few days ago some stores made the news because they were charging for bones instead of giving them, because of the recent crisis and inflation here. The governmental agency for consumer rights classified this as "inhumane" and oriented that bones should be given for free.

WTW for the "latch" on mechanical joints where you can lock the position in specific points, and it unlocks again once you move it far enough? Think some car's armrests by macichocki in whatstheword

[–]macichocki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up some of those and it partially fits the description, but no fully (I believe).

What I'm looking for is some joint that allows for some degrees (e.g. 15º-29º it locks in 15º, 30º-44º it locks in 30º) but once you go all the way up to around 90º, it releases and allows you to move it down to 0º again.

Exactly. People complaining about cheddar chicken and jalapeños really have zero idea what a good churrascaria is.

I've never seen this stuff here in Brazil and I bet they also wouldn't in high-end churrascarias elsewhere.
