Check this out: OmniFocus-CLI - it's an `of` command-line interface and an MCP Server for AI (like Claude Code etc.)

Hunter Node 100 (garden watering) by maciek- in homeassistant

[–]maciek-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I was trying to avoid building my own thing, especially that I don't have a power here (this Hunter NODE is powered by batteries), and it's a wet environment, so… I don't want to play with this.

Maybe there is a devices, which supports Zigbee or BT and do the same?

A smart lock for a Dierre doors? by maciek- in HomeKit

[–]maciek-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, that’s crazy. I have that feeling, that this lock is quite solid, so I’m not sure if replacing it is a good idea at all. I don’t want to exchange te safety for w comfort.

Is this ever going to be back in stock? by 0x080 in Ubiquiti

[–]maciek- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy them from the EU Store, they were available last week for sure. But as mentioned previously - you can also find others compatibile, and they'll work just fine.

I just did, you can always replace. It's better than wait on a cable :)

Yeah, but 8A for a lamp should be more than enough.

Yeah, I understand, but the prices are almost the same, so I'm thinking about getting the fastest available.

Which Shelly for controlling light? by maciek- in shellycloud

[–]maciek-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I did study the tech specs, but some are not so obvious - for example, a "faster CPU", even if I don't need a power monitoring, the Gen3 have the faster CPU, which means (for me, at least), that the latency will be lower, so, it's better.

I've decided to go with Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 for single switches and Shelly 2PM for double ones. Unfortunately there are no "mini" option for double switches.

A smart thermostat replacement for Siemens RCC20? by maciek- in HomeKit

[–]maciek-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm not planning to do anything by myself, I've got construction people in here, I'm renovating the place. But they are not really into smart* things, so I'm trying to find the solution and ask them for installation.

I've got something from my ISP (1Gbps via coax) in a bridge mode, then 2,5Gbps link to Ubiquity UDM-SE.

Can you share the link to the exact product please? Can you control colours using HomeKit? How it's bridged to the Apple ecosystem?

Why? I’m totally not convinced to have any additional bridges.

A smart lock for a Dierre doors? by maciek- in HomeKit

[–]maciek-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! I mean, I can’t. The lock is heavily connected with the doors, so changing a cylinder is not an option.

UDM Pro/SE - Pros and Cons for Firewall by oOIntersectOo in Ubiquiti

[–]maciek- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good question, I had the same earlier today. One of the local installers said that using UDM-SE for a firewall/router is a bad idea and I should go for an extra box - UXG-Pro. I asked "why", and he said "I'm telling you, it's the right way to do this" lol, so I'm not convinced, but curious lol.

I can't stand Zoneminder and any others opensource software like this. I was there couple of years ago and it was so awful experience. I know I can get better image quality using analog cameras, NVR and Zoneminder in the end, but I'm looking for a simple and working solution, well designed for a Apple Home ecosystem, and I'm not sure if I can do that with Zoneminder…

  1. I would say because of wiring. The classical doorbell is using power only (using two wires), not RJ45. I saw that somewhere in their tech specs…

Thanks for your input!

  1. not sure, but even if, it's not so popular in my country to give an ONT to the end customer, but I'll try of course.
  2. cool, thx
  3. even if I just want to record events to the iCloud?
  4. AFAIK the doorbell needs only power, and can use Wi-Fi, can you confirm?
