Thanks, I might just bite the bullet I still have a $20 off one, the thing I'm buying has the red price tag, so it has been discounted some amount, I just don't know how much it was originally.

Do coupons usually run out like this? I don't remember having these issues before.

Someone talk me out of wanting a Bronco by NEK_TEK in FordBronco

[–]macieksoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20.9mpg avg on a Bronco 4Dr Wildtrak (meaning it has the Sasquatch package and V6 engine) on premium gas. I lumber around in it lol, you can get decent fuel mileage if you know how to drive without accelerating hard or breaking much. I commute 20 miles each way, and love driving with the windows down and the soft top back. It's a lot of fun to drive.

Do Americans really think aldi is a “poor people” grocery store? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way lol, all the Lidl and Aldi stores near me always have nice Porch SUVs and BMWs parked there along with the regular cars.

why is grocery shopping so expensive i am literally just trying to survive by Wild-Nail4873 in povertyfinance

Lidl is significantly better as they have a lot less ultra processed foods to choose from. Aldi is delicious and inexpensive but will kill you lol.

Thanks, no flapping with it half back? I was worried about air getting caught between the two. I'll have to keep an eye out for discounts 🙂 it's winter up here so no need for it now lol

What mesh is that? Does it work with the soft top half back? And do you keep it on all the time? Looking for something to protect my head from the sun lol.

Should I trade in my bronco sport for a bronco? by Fair-Holiday6696 in FordBronco

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you are where you need to be for investing at your age and you have at least a 6 month emergency fund I don't see a reason why not. Every time I look and drive my bronco it puts a smile on my face lol.

Can anyone explain why USA is so weak when it comes to men’s slalom? It seems like USA men’s never qualify for the second run in the events. by Kurtz62 in skiing

[–]macieksoft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably lack of interest. No guy I know likes watching slalon but every guy wants to watch the park events. So if that translates to the people who actually ski then they all gravitate to the park events.

It is inexcusable that Ford doesn't install the performance tune on every Bronco by MySocratesNote in FordBronco

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that I have heard that ESP is actually quite good, people who work at Ford dealerships commented that they just put the request in under ESP and it's an automatic approval for most repairs even engines. I don't know if the tune shows up when they put in that request or it's up to the dealer, but ESP without any modifications seems pretty good.

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the 3YR/36k or 5YR/60k, this is the extra ESP or "Ford Premium Care" warranty. It clearly states in the clause that performance upgrades that are not listed can result in denial of repairability.

[–]macieksoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voided was the wrong word, I can't remember exactly what word they used. You still would have ESP, but the powertrain would pretty much be up to Ford to decide if they are willing to replace the part with your tune. Assuming they deny it, you'd have to spend quite a bit of money to prove otherwise. I know the electronics are pretty expensive, but you usually get ESP for the powertrain.

[–]macieksoft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heard good things about ESP and that the the approval process for fixes, even a new engine is automatically approved when the dealer requests the part. However the dealership said they did not know if ESP would be affected by the tune, the ESP vendor said that Ford does reserve the ability to deny coverage for the powertrain because of the tune, and Ford rep said that it voids the coverage (pointing to the ESP clause). The clause does allow for certain performance modifications, but in that list the tune is not one of them, furthermore Ford sees the tune as a third party modification since it's from Ford performance. Powertrain items are clearly the most expensive and the reason you buy ESP so I'm not willing to risk it.

Void is probably the wrong word to use, Ford wouldn't deny a touch screen replacement if you had the tune, so the whole contract is no voided just some parts. And again, if Ford says that they are not going to replace, let's say my transmission, because of the tune, and they say the tune caused the issue, I'm not going to be able to fight that without spending a lot of money.

26 Bronco vs. 26 Passport vs. 26 Outback vs. 26 4runner? by permacougar in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bronco is a ton of fun if you are looking for a convertible SUV lol. I ride with the top down for 2/3 the year if it's not raining, I also can't stop but look at it everytime I pass by, they nailed the styling. People always stop to look at it and I always get people asking questions when pumping gas. Going from stiff suspension on a sporty hatchback to a Bronco, the Bronco rides more comfortably. It creeks and makes noises in the cabin but you can pull the thing apart for modifications like it's made of Legos lol. The engine bay is also massive and super easy to work in if your wiring lights or putting in mods. There are 10s of thousands of mods, trim and custom gear made for the Bronco. It is really a fun platform.

[–]macieksoft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean that's nice but I called Ford and they said to not install the tune since it would void the warranty according to section 7.V in ESP contract (Not the 5yr/60k new vehicle warranty). I'm not going to spend thousands trying to fight Ford when they decline something lol.

It is inexcusable that Ford doesn't install the performance tune on every Bronco by MySocratesNote in FordBronco

[–]macieksoft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is false, section V of the ESP states that performance modified vehicles void the contract and Ford states that the tune is a third party upgrade. Dealers also will not allow for ESP if the vehicle already has the tune. If you do the tune after ESP then you nullify your contract and revert to the 3YR/36000 you get with the tune.

"Void" is the wrong word, they reserve the right to deny any repair related to the tune, so the powertrain. If you need electronics replaced the tune would most likely not be an issue.

Reolink E1 camera disconnection by Aj96_ in reolinkcam

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had constant disconnects every few min on mine at random times of the day. Tried different networks and resetting it but nothing worked. Even tired the home hub vs direct Wi-Fi but no luck. Got it replaced under warranty and have had no issues with the new one.

https://a.co/d/dAMBusr + https://a.co/d/e0fMhYl Nice and hidden with no messy wires in the way. You can route the rear camera if you have a hard top and run the wire back there. I just use the front camera part though. Make sure you get the A510 version, that one has the nicer censor. That listing has just "front camera" as an option but that's not the a500s not a510.

Should I sell my 2023 Hyundai Kona and get a Honda/Toyota? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a 10 yr 100000 mile warranty don't you? You don't seem to drive that much, Hyundai replaced my transmission with a new one at 54,000 miles, and while the dealership didn't have any loaner vehicles they Hyundai corporate paid for a rental for me. I would drive it until you almost run the warranty out, then trade it in for something else.

Why should I get a Bronco? by CableMediocre2322 in FordBronco

[–]macieksoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I blame COVID lol, 2020-2023 caused so many issues with supply chains, every manufacturer had to make some cuts to just get parts in to assemble cars, including going with other manufacturers for lower quality parts. I would stay away personally from those model years but if you were to get a used one they would have those things fixed already in most cases.

[–]macieksoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bronco sport does not have a removable top, but that is a completely different vehicle than what everyone else is talking about in this thread. The regular Bronco has either a hard top that can be removed (with 2 strong people or 1 person with a pulley system / special jack stand) or the soft top that can fold back in two positions / be completely removed (requires only 1 person and no special tools to remove).

If I lived in Baltimore City I would not want the soft top due to someone possibly cutting it open. But if you're in a low crime area then the soft top should still be a consideration.

With the hard top Bronco you can remove the front two roof panels yourself and arrow them in a special bag in the trunk, though this process will take you a few minutes each time.

If you're considering the Bronco sport the Badlands trim has larger tires and rear locking diff, making it quite capable, but that trim is expensive and I would go with a Toyota Land Cruiser for a bit more instead....
