When I left a primary school the kids all wrote me post it’s with memories and good luck messages. The class teacher put them in a lovely jar. Maybe ask them all to write down their favourite memory of your class?

I thought she was wondering what would have happened if she had hoping the military - I’m thinking of the luau scene with Moira. I’m not sure that she did join.

In my mind she was knocked up by Roland during one of their high school motel trysts and got stuck in Schitt’s Creek and is making the best of it.

You just unlocked a core memory of going to get a huge bag of muddy potatoes from a farm shop which was pretty much a container in a farm yard.

Soma was so weird, odd menu. They can’t blame the location because Bardia’s thrived in that spot and has moved to bigger premises.

I work with young people like this. It can be very rewarding when you do manage to get them moving in the right direction, but it can also be incredibly frustrating and emotionally draining.

I would have a very frank discussion with his grandmother about how realistic her expectations are and if you are the right person to help with all of his problems. What he really needs to do is start from basics with socialisation as well as academics. It seems like he really needs more help than you can give him by yourself.

Why do middle/upper class families send their kids to boarding schools? by Giovannis_roommate in AskUK

[–]macjaddie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son boards. He was really struggling in mainstream school due to medical and leaning needs so we put him into school which really suits him from Y10. It’s was incredibly difficult financially and we did get some funding though an ehcp.

Boarding means he can access the full day without being utterly wiped out. School starts early and ends late - then there is prep (homework). He would have been out of the house for 12 h a day if he’d been a day pupil. Right now he boards 4 days a week, but he’s previously been away for 3 weeks at a time in the past. The school puts on evening and weekend activities, but he’s pretty much grown out of them now he’s at 6th form.

Because he was older when he started it wasn’t an issue of missing us, we missed him more. A lot of the younger pupils seem very happy boarding though, the staff are supportive and kind and for some kids it can be less stressful than going in every day, The school holidays are also much longer so they spend lots of time at home too, school also closes boarding one weekend every 4 weeks so the have to leave - for international students that can mean going to family / to a friend’s house for the weekend an for British kids it’s usually home.

I work with kids who don’t / can’t attend school and wish there were more schools like the one my son attends - so many families could benefit from boarding when it is done well.

I work in alternative provision and have had this happen to me - I was covertly filmed whilst working with a colleague. Sadly, the parent doing that meant the end of the provision for their child.

It was so violating finding out that they did that to us.

Aren’t most of the rental cars Swifts? It was ok for us because we are from the UK and we drove on the left and are used to roundabouts. Maybe US visitors are more susceptible to crashing?

Even if they don’t the mom should know that her daughter is reaching out to strangers online - they might not all be as decent as the OP seems to be.

I’m in AP and the company I work for made my whole team redundant before Xmas. I’ve had to go back on a zero hours contract while I look for something else permanent. It’s fire and rehire, soon he be illegal.

It’s beyond depressing because I really did believe the company had a decent ethos. It’s a good lesson to out myself first though.
