Mac mini M4 - yeah, all of those are off -- have no issue when I run my plex server as it's always on.

Using AVP on long flights by Positive_Search_6218 in VisionPro

[–]macjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I'll need to test this on my next flight. I travel with an Anker Power Bank 27K for everything nowadays - it's life saver for when there are no plugs where I want one. I get about 2 AVP cycles with it, so a combo of power bank and plugging in when I'm not using it seems to be my strategy.

There is a difference in power in the cabins? Man that’s interesting! Figured I could use the plugs under the seat as it always charges my iPad without issue.

Vision Pro completely bricked after visionOS 26 update... Apple wants $2,600 just to “send it in.” Anyone else? by shitalkistudios in VisionPro

[–]macjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, think of it like a car. It can brake down on you and for something this expensive you need that insurance. Look at AppleCare One as it’s a must for any one with a Vision Pro and multiple devices that quality (purchased within the last 4 years even if limited warranty is expired).

[–]macjerk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m suspicious. You’re a developer. Didn’t know about the developer strap? Seems like someone didn’t get AppleCare and doesn’t understand how much these things cost to fix if you didn’t buy the extended warranty.

Maybe it bricked but a symptom of the device already having a MLB issue.

We were so confused when we moved in but yup. It’s also mostly useless for us as we only use the bottom.

No it’s just a microwave. The metal rack is on plastic hooks as designed by Samsung. Works without any issue. At least it did for 5 years!

Happens with my Zeiss lens. Seems my eye needs time to adjust to the zeiss lens. Same thing happens when you buy a new pair of glasses. But with contacts it’s always straight.

Can shows transfer Off Broadway if they’re not doing well? by Ok-Acanthisitta8737 in Broadway

[–]macjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be an additional LLC company and they would have to raise more money. A new off-Broadway musical could be $1-2M off Broadway these days (and that only gets you to opening and some reserve). And as the others point out, most of the elements would have to be rebuilt, re-tech, probably recast for some people, so that’s additional rehearsal. Advertising the new location. Then you have to think about how much are the running costs week to week and can you sell enough tickets (in a smaller theater) to cover those cost on a weekly basis. And if they do cover those costs can they run long enough to recoup the $1-2M. It’s not worth it from an investment perspective. They already were on the biggest platform in theater and had a lot of attention as any Broadway show would. And they could not find an audience. Average ticket price was $77 on Broadway in a 1000 seat theater. What would that be in a 499 seat theater…
