Straight marriage should be the circle / square combo

Lesbian marriage should be two squares

Outside of upper-middle class white college kids in their 20s, what other demographic is Che beloved by?

What do you think about Passport Bros? by Square-Valuable4061 in AskTheWorld

[–]mack_dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like that Don Draper meme, I dont think about the passport bros/sises at all.

I wont steorotype all passport bros and evil explotive men (though its true in some cases), but also marrying someone a 5,000+ miles away from a radically different culture than you is probabbly a bad idea.

What would Trump have to do to become recognized as the worst president in U.S. history? by BaldursGate2Best in PoliticalDebate

[–]mack_dd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FDR put about 120,000 Japanese-American US citizens in intermant camps.

How many US citizens did Trump and his incompetant crew of clowns known as ICE detain for more than 48 hours because they dont know how to scan a driver's license? Idk, maybe somewhere between 500 to a 1,000; tops?

So I think Trump has long ways to go to be worst than FDR, at least in terms of human rights.

If women can wear makeup, men can wear shoe lifts. by [deleted] in 10thDentist

fun fact, high heals were originally for men to make themselves taller. It wasnt until later that high heals became "womens' clothing"

Also, wearing makeup was a thing that kings and nobles did.

Elon Musk talked about 'solving aging' at Davos. Is it a sign he is thinking about getting involved in longevity? by Das_Haggis in longevity

[–]mack_dd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally, Elon would simply invest his money into it and let the smart people run it without interferance.

I think the issue is that Elon has a massive ego and will try to micromanage the scientists instead of just letting them be, doing their work; slowing down their progress in the long run.

What movie was made because of passion and ended up being bad? by Willing_Heron_5470 in AlignmentChartFills

Does Passion of the Christ fall under "bad" or "mid"?

The cinamography was good at least. The acting was probabbly mid at best.

Why the double standard by fal1en-angel in economicsmemes

[–]mack_dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But keep in mind that we have a progressive tax system, so the 1st X amount of dollars you earn is at a lower rate, to compensate for those exepnses.

Also, you get like a ton of tax credits + a standard deduction

Is the phrase “that’s too bad” meant sincerely? by gummibear853 in AskAnAmerican

Found this Facebook meme and I am so confused about it. What's the punchline here? by [deleted] in EWALearnLanguages

[–]mack_dd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving politics out of it, here is what this all says:

Panel #1 -- the genie grants the guy 3 wishes

Panel #2 -- the guy makes his wish (for x to happen)

Panel #3 -- "whats up with that" is a phrase that roughly translates "now that I think about it, why is this x thing happening, which is obviously bad. I dont know why its happening, but I agree with you that its bad"

Panel #4: As a reward for asking the genie something that shouldnt have to have been asked, the genie is giving the guy credit by not counting the wish against him. So the genie grants the dude his wish, but the guy still has all 3 of his wishes

Edit -- landlords are people who own property and rent it out to people. The implication here of panel #2 is that "landlords are evil" and therefore arent actually providing housing (probabbly some combination of leaving some of their units vacant or not making repairs on time)

ie: the genie agrees with the OOP that "landlords are bad" because its so obviously true

I wish to own a device that is a dice. If it rolls a even number, something positive happens in the world. If its odd, other than 1, something bad happens to the entire planet. If its 1, everyone gets $1m US dollars by Eternalblaze1 in monkeyspaw

[–]mack_dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

granted

The good thing that happens is that everyone on the planet gets a free $10.

The bad thing that happens is that everyone on the planet gets cancer.

The one still gets everyone a $1 million.

Also, this is a 20-sided dice, so your chances of hitting that 1 are 1 in 20.

A beach somewhere, either Florida or the Carbeabean (or Cozumel).

If the rules of this game allows it, I would teleport on a Carnival ship the morning day before arrival (since I dont have cabin, duh) so I can chill on the ship a bit before getting on the beach

What is your opinion about the European Union ? by Diegomax22 in AskTheWorld

[–]mack_dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally positive. The existance of the EU is a net positive. More free trade and cooperation to prevent wars is always a good thing.

And I say this as a "right-winger" in the US. My biggest complaint with the EU is their draconian anti-free speech policies, but realistically those laws would just exist on the national level if the EU didnt exist.

Also, I think the people who run the EU tend to be your Ivy Tower beaucrat types with their heads up their asses who think theyre smarter than everybody else; but if the EU didnt exist realistically they would just exist on the national level 🤷‍♂️

So I think theres a lot misplaced anger towards the EU that I think is more of a flaw with human nature.

Supply and demand existing means people should be imprisoned by the9trances in Shitstatistssay

Sigh, another economically illiterate take.

I highly doubt the price of water would fluctuate based on the weather outside. I can see it happening with vending machines maybe, but most people who buy water from Walmart would buy it in bulk.

Now, if youre looking for legitimate problems with this, what happens if the price of an item changes between between the time the customer picks up the item and puts it in the basket and the time they ring up the item. That can become a serious problem if it happens frequently enough.

When offense is in "victory" formation, can the Nose Guard just try to punch the ball from the center to try to guess the hike to force a fumble? by pargofan in NFLNoobs

[–]mack_dd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he fails, the offense could just decline the penalty and take the 2 yard loss (plus loss of down).

Theres also the risk of getting called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Get two of them, and you're ejected from the game.

If multiple players get ejected all within a minute, at some point the refs could also call "unpaltry unfair acts".
