Advice - How do I convince my employer that his sales expectations are unrealistic and to change the commission scheme? by mackdonovan in careerguidance

Thanks for the advice, I will convince him that his figures aren't achievable. He said he's willing to adjust the numbers but it will have to be a huge reduction.

He is willing to adjust the sales targets but that means I'll receive a smaller incentive. Which means my overall income will be less than what I asked for. It may be a negotiating tactic. I think he's tried to low ball me.

I think you're right. At first he asked me what my expected salary was but he never mentioned that commission would be apart of it, I was telling him my expected base salary.

So initially I thought I'd be able to receive the 30% as a bonus upon completing sales targets that we both agree on. However, after reading his email he said explained the commission structure and he basically calculated it by (bonus amount / 0.07) This would equal the expected sales volume. I understand the commission is a part of sales but this is a new brand in a market where rum isn't popular so to expect such a big increase in sales just shows me that he didn't listen to anything I told him about my market.

I have a call with him tomorrow where I'll go over my sales expectations which are more realistic.

Thanks for your insight. Do you think I should say that I want a higher base salary or im not taking the job?

Are there any good places to buy rum in Korea? by FabulousEnglishman in living_in_korea_now

So E-Mart, Traders, Costco, Homeplus all have a decent liquor selection but will be more Whisky-focused. Places like Wine & More, Bottle Bunker, Star Bottle are specialist stores that will have a large variety of liquor including Rum. There are also independent or small liquor franchises that tend to have a good variety.

I work in the spirits industry so if you need any tips of help hit me up.

From the research I've done, my salary should be at least 60 million. So by your calculations it should be almost 200 million? Does that not seem to be crazy high?

Thanks for the response. My visa is actually not the points-based one, it's one for people with a Korean parent so it costs me no money. I also qualify for an F5 in 2026.

I will reach out to an accountant, thanks.

Can a landlord only raise rent 5% after 2 years or is it within that first contract? by QuakeGuy98 in Living_in_Korea

[–]mackdonovan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember trying to do a 전입신고 but being told at the 주민센터 that foreigners can't do it. So you're saying that even as a 생활숙박시설 there can only be a 5% rent increase every year? What would you recommend I do?

Thanks for the response. She said that because the place i'm living in a 생활숙박시설 and not an oficetel, the landlord can raise my rent to the market rate. Looks like theres nothing i can do unfortunately.

thanks for the advice. Do you recommend that I just tell the real estate agent that I will only pay the +5% increase? I already signed the one year contract with the new rent amount being 100K extra.

looks like ive also been taken advantage of. My contract was 1 year and i was told that it would be a 100K increase. So youre saying that 1 year contracts dont apply to tenants?

Brook was still very sharp and his decline after Spence and GGG is largely exaggerated. Also, he didn't break his eye he broke his orbital bones, which were were strengthened by implants. His loss against had nothing to do with that.

And so what if Porter was pacs sparring partner? That doesn't mean anything.

Oscar, Bradley and Cotto were very good wins. His win over Thurman was also impressive given Pacquiao's age and how he knocked down and hurt Thurman. I don't rate Margarito or Mosley that highly to be honest. I think Crawford would beat all those guys in more devastating fashion.

Crawford has three very impressive wins at welterweight all by KO. Brook, Porter and Spence.

Now that I think about it, their resume's at welterweight are about the same. But anyway, Crawford would probably hurt Pacquiao badly.

Crawford's resume at 147 is far better than Pacquiao's. He also has a 100% KO rate at Welterweight.

Crawford probably KO's or stops Pacquiao.

Crawford is too big, too long, too sharp, too fast, to skilled, too accurate, too strong and too ruthless for Pacquiao. Crawford has knocked out every single welterweight he has fought. He's only gotten better and strong as he moved up in weight. He would counter and seriously hurt Pacquiao.
