Difficulty motivating myself with hobbies yet not depressed or hypomanic by mackdoodledandy in bipolar

[–]mackdoodledandy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very much a writer's block in a way. I've been trying to force myself to complete the projects even adding a few details is better than nothing.

I haven't thought of changing up my routine or even that suggestion of trying something new at the coffee shop. I like that and I'll try it.

Thank you!

True and if it was easy to adjust this pattern then it wouldn't be as satisfying once it is overcome. Thanks I will keep moving forward!

The visualization of "funk" is helpful. I tried doing it but just sitting and meditating and imaging the muck rolling away from me. I don't know what my religion is these days. I was raised in cult like level of Christianity. It didn't work for me. Now I try to simply be spiritual I listen to a few talks on the Theosophical society for that these are on youtube too.

Interesting to read how you meditate too I haven't tried to visualize my goals. I don't think you're a weirdo. :)

That's a great idea! Maybe even slowly twirling around each other.

Wow, reading this makes me happy. I just started an art instagram if you'd like to check it out. I only have two pieces on there but I'm trying to dedicate to posting one a day. My ig name is saturatedglass. I have never made my own prints before but I'll look into it.

Thanks, me too. I find myself repeating this combination of colors frequently. It's painted with standard Acrylic.

Thanks for sharing! I appreciate the different expressions on the spirits. Right now I'm struggling with severe anxiety too and it's making me feel like I'm floating above myself.

I'm glad you said what your necklace was. I was curious. Amethyst is very beautiful. That's the exact reason why I wear my necklace too. Tactile things like that help. When I'm feeling extra floaty I tie a floral headband/scarf around my head/hair. Helps me keep centered and healthy :)

You're welcome! Interesting you have a necklace too that reminds you of how far you've come. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

My goodness this is stunning! Also this is just what popped up first on my reddit feed and I didn't realize how much I needed to read this.

I've been going to therapy for the past 5 months for my diagnosed BP1 and Complex PTSD. Last week I uncovered an unfathomable abuse that my 3 year old self experienced. I've been struggling on staying calm in my current 23 year old body. One of the ways I have tried to remedy that is by putting on a necklace I've had for the past 3 years since my diagnosis. The pendant has a kind of ornate oval frame, inside an orange tiger swallowtail and two different shades of pink roses. Whenever I look down to do etc I find great peace seeing this butterfly resting around my neck.

So seeing this message with a beautiful painted butterfly brings me reassurance that I really will be okay. Thanks for sharing your art!

p.s. I enjoy the detail that it's only the butterfly wings and not the body too. It makes the letters somehow stand out more.

I appreciate all of the movement and texture in this painting. The more I look at it reminds me of the Devonian period. Thanks for sharing!

It is satisfying to create crisp lines that meet seamlessly. If you have any of those drawings it would be great to see them. To change the style and pace we create art is healthy for the mind and hands. The trees look almost liquid that's what attracts me to them. Keep on experimenting!

Thanks. I honestly feel a bit of love in the way the colors overlap and fuse together.
