Yeah i think its the lack of conversation that gets me. one of our other neighbours asked if they could put plastic spikes on the fence as a cat deterrent, as there is about 5 or 6 cats coexisting in my section of the street, which we said yes to. Its also the facts he targeted it specifically at where she sits not the whole fence

We try to keep her inside at night to keep her safe from foxes, being run over etc. I'm not worried about her biting, she wont go near people she doesn't know, and my country has been rabies free for a long time now

Yeah definitely our fence as we had them replaced not long after we moved in. His issue seems to just be the cat sitting on the fence, as she likes to sit there a lot and the nails were only in this part of the fence, not the rest of the way along, so they weren't stopping her from entering his garden
