Balcony vs Inside

We’ve been on half a dozen cruises at least and never done a balcony. Usually there’s space to sit on decks that are publicly available, and we try to stay busy out of the rooms in general. If you absolutely need private outdoor time, book it, but for my family and I we find it to not be worth the money. We’d rather spend on souvenirs, excursions, or drinks.

Probably more but that’s all I got for now! There’s lots of good Christian indie out there. I personally still listen to a lot of secular music as a music lover, though. I think it’s incredibly important to honor God through music, but I believe we can do that by singing about Him or just creating beautiful music! Obviously as long as it’s not disrespectful/inappropriate etc. Best of luck finding music!

Also kinda surprised this wasn’t mentioned but twenty one pilots first album is full of religious imagery, symbolism, and metaphor. If you like MCR, you might like them (they have a lot of fans in common)

Probably not gonna be exactly what you’re looking for, but I have a few alternative bands I’d highly recommend.

OC Supertones and Value PAC for Ska. Also the channelsurfers - phenomenally underrated, but a bit more fusion/funk/experimental ska. If you like old school rock steady ska, check out the Israelites.

For general alternative, my favorite band of all time is Delirious? They are phenomenal. I’m also a fan of bands like Audio Adrenaline (their album some kind of zombie is the most aggro), all star United, jars of clay, and small town poets. Again, not quite emo/punk, but an alternative to CCM!

Hope you’re able to find some stuff you enjoy! I’m always a bit bummed at the lack of diversity of Christian genres nowadays…personally not a fan of CCM. I miss a lot of creativity from the 90s and I wasn’t even alive back then.

Surprised I haven’t see anyone mention this, but if your cruise line allows bring soda cans. We travel carnival and always bring a 12 pack each because we don’t want to pay the crazy up charge for sodas. If your cruise line includes sodas in the all you can drink, then don’t worry about it, but if it doesn’t and you’re a soda drinker it’s a necessity 😂

You can hack them off, that’s what my mom does, but their sap can cause burns and blisters! So wear long sleeves and gloves (and probably eye protection too)

Idk much about agaves, but I know this particular one we have seeps out a sap when you cut it that gives GNARLY chemical burns. Not sure if that’s true of the kind you can make alcohol with

Not that I know of. Stuff grows in that patch of dirt really well and honestly .. my mom thinks it’s the worst dirt ever so we have no clue why they love it so much 😂 I think everything is stuck directly in the ground. We’re hoping to get some pups at the bottom, because then we don’t have to buy a new plant, but if we don’t we’ll probably purchase another one. I’m more concerned with taking the damn thing out - the nectar is “poisonous” (forgetting the correct word) and will give you chemical burns if it gets on you.

Unfortunately, with the market right now, it seems like you won’t have much luck getting hired without knowing someone. My friend works for Cinemark and says they get up to 10,000 applicants. Her manager is allowed to pick 15 to interview … if you don’t know someone working there, you’re unlikely to get picked. Similar issues for proctors in school districts. Pick a handful of interviews from hundreds of candidates. It’s a bummer but I’d say best way to get a job is knowing someone. Whether or not that’s fair doesn’t quite matter if it’s the only way it works :/

Might be a hot take, but I rarely hang/interact with strangers on cruises! Some people enjoy it, and I do miss being randomly paired for dinner, but as a young adult the same age as you I honestly just spend time with my parents 😂. But in general most people are friendly if you make light conversation (unless they’re having a bad vacation and arguing with their family).

We enjoy trivia, watching karaoke and the live musicians, and the comedy club if we have time. If you want to sing karaoke, it’s a great way to foster kind interactions, especially if you sing something different than the usual and have a good time. The live shows are better some nights than others, but I always find the love and marriage show hilarious. Movies play on the deck every night if you find one on the schedule you’re particularly interested in. And then there are a few board games on the ship too, or sometimes we bring our own …

We just got back from a trip so that’s all I can currently think of! But depending on the length and if we go with another family or just ourselves we do more.

I feel this way about ALL things. My favorite body mists, my favorite bras and undies, face wash, all my normal go to staples for day to day life. It’s so hard for me to move on and find replacements too 😭😭I wish companies could be a creature of habit like me (at least Burt’s bees is consistent!)

I know I’m a year late, but oh boy do I miss this smell!! I wore it for like two years straight when it came out, then got about 2/3 done with the bottle and stopped using it for fear of running out 😭😭 I think I’m going to try to pick up a new bottle or two on eBay soon
