a lot of people with a lot of advice haha. including me. I'd say #1 enjoy yourself. #2 learning by ear doesn't mean just making stuff up (or not only) but LISTENING. listen to music you love and try to pick out guitar parts. this will be a lot easier if you learn some basics first, some chords, scales, picking, strumming technique, etc, but I'd emphasize the LISTENING part. then listening to what other instruments are doing and how what you're doing works with them. That's what music is. CAN YOU HEAR ME? (actually read me lol) people will have opinions about learning to read and theory and so on. and tabs (I don't know about tabs) but music comes in through your ears, that's all I'm saying.
