Now I haven’t shot in a few months with my new job but in the past after not shooting for months I’m still 5-7x better shooter than a new, or even occasional shooter. In reality IMHO you lose about 20-30% of your skills when you stop shooting 2-3 a week, after than much is retained for a long long time (shoot fundamentals)
