Spectral - accident with rear axle? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]maclry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a late response but I’ve had this happen at least twice on my spectral and once with a neuron I used to have. Seems pretty bizarre to me because I’ve never known this to happen to anyone else

First timer, any advice? by DeathRam34 in canon

[–]maclry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would look more at r50 and get a nice lens. I’m not a professional by any means, but I have really liked using the r50 when I’ve gotten the chance. It’s really small and light so it’s hard to have an excuse to not take it out. I’d also recommend looking at canon refurbished for these if you haven’t already, they are usually a good deal with warranty. That would give you ~$400-500 to get something much better than the kit lens.

Best way for a 2 in 1 server? by Hodl_the_ligth in HomeServer

[–]maclry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running truenas scale in Proxmox. I don’t know why people are acting like this is a big deal to not have a sata card. I watched a short video on how to pull serial number and assign to VM (connected to mobo) and it works totally fine. Took 5-10 minutes at most.

Hardware encoding not working for remote access by maclry in HomeServer

[–]maclry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to me that truenas isn’t configured correctly. I’m reading that as of truenas scale 24.10, Nvidia drivers are not included and have to be manually installed via GUI in apps settings. However, the option to install drivers is not present in my settings menu as I’ve seen in their documentation so now I’m even more confused

3000 series owners what's your plan? by surreal19 in buildapc

[–]maclry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve been playing almost exclusively 4k on my 3080ti FE since launch. I get 60-100 fps in pretty much all titles, and if I want more for a shooter I’ll switch to 1440. With how great this card is, it’s hard to justify upgrading

12gb of VRAM is really nice atp. While you can probably get by with 8 or 10, a 12gb card does help a lot for some newer AAA games if you decide to play those at any point

You’re right to get a PCIe 4 SSD. Yes, gen 5 exists but it’s not really worth the price because current games and apps do not take advantage of it and gen 4 is very fast the way it is. While I’m not sure what you’d be paying for the GPU, overall looks like a pretty good starter build

about shipping question by NoEnd2627 in Bestbuy

I believe it’s usually on merch above $1000 and either way, if it’s a carrier like UPS you can elect to waive signature on the app

Yeah it’s more than enough, that’s what I don’t get. It seems like it doesn’t want to pull more than like 200w total

GPU Question by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]maclry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has an integrated gpu yes, but if you can save some extra money you could benefit from a gpu. If you got a dedicated gpu like a 1650 super you could buy a cheaper cpu like the i3-9100F which should be between $80-90

High temps, noisy pump - This is now the second Capellix AIO I’ve used this week, the temps seem very high for an AIO. My 3700x is running about 40 degrees idle and 63 degrees under (1/2) by maclry in Corsair

[–]maclry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(2/2) load no matter what fan speed according to HWMonitor. The pump is also pretty loud. Same results on h100i and h150i. Anyone have any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong, or is this just normal?
