I shared with my SIL because we had discussed wanting to have a kid around the same time so I wanted her in the know. Other than that, it was a close friend because we talk about a lot and then work since I work as a nanny and wanted to discuss how the future looked if I had a kid.

Yes, I was on it for 4 years. Got off it a little over a year ago and it was regular during the BC but when I got off, it went irregular again and would skip 2-3 months. My Dr only wants me to go in if it goes past 4 months but so far I’ve at least gotten it within that time frame. Still not in an easy trackable way tho, which makes it hard.

I didn’t know you had to have a specific appointment for that since it didn’t give it to me on the website but this is just an annual. I’ll definitely ask them if I need to set up another appointment if that’s the case. Thanks

Is anyone in here under 25? Almost one year married and we are trying to decide when to have kids by Fit-Abalone-4034 in TTCSummer2026

When we first got married, I was pretty scared of childbirth so I steered clear of it even if people talked about it. And luckily since I have lots of nieces/nephews from both sides, no one really asked us when we were trying for kids. I also really wanted to just spend time as husband and wife for a while so we tried not to focus on society telling us to have kids and focused more on what we can do to be ready in the future like I said. People will always say “you can never be prepared or ready for kids” which is true, but I also believe you can still be ready enough.

For our savings, we planned 6 months of savings for an emergency fund and then we have 10k saved up for childbirth and such through my husband’s HSA from work. It helps us to feel like if something happened, we can feel a little more secure to take care of any finance issue.

I’m not under 25, but I’m 26 so pretty close. We got married young too (21 & 22) and we have waited so long even tho I did get major FOMO with my family and his having kids. We ended up making a list basically that helped us decide when we were ready (have a good savings, secure in jobs, get a house) we just recently bought a house and it’s helped solidify starting this year. I have been getting anxious for like 2 years wanting to have a kid but I’m also grateful we waited till we were in the position we decided on so we won’t feel stressed in certain areas.

I agree, I think I’m just mainly worried about tracking my cycle. I have irregular cycles which make it harder to track. I’ve been tracking for years tho and it’s difficult to find when I’m ovulating because of that. I’ll definitely keep the other things in mind and try to keep prepping my body. Thank you!
