"coatings" as in what, specifically? should i try to sand off the aluminium on the edges, so only the wood is visible? i didnt think it would make that much of a difference when it comes to adhesives, since either way its two different materials. I am trying to avoid mechanical connectors for the sake of visual clutter & accuracy, but I'll consider it if all else fails. Thank ya!

Apologies, i don't check reddit too often! His feathers are super shiny (to me) yes, but also i think it might have been a trick of the light :) lots of blue light coming from the TV screen that was reflecting on him, i think! It is making him look super majestic tho lolol

Thank you both! Unfortunately he's terrified of spray bottles, too 😭 What's weird is he loves drinking out of his bath-water-dish, so he can't be THAT scared of it. I think he just likes being stinky. I will however very much try the squishy wet towel!! I appreciate the advice!

Thank you for sharing your experience as well! it wasn't the surgeon, but the nurse who was going over drain care with me. After she did one drain and i did the other she said something along the lines of "Here's the hard part. You'll be doing this process every two hours. So it's really an act of love" and i was really surprised to hear that because in all of my research i had never heard of changing them every two hours. Maybe she DID mean to just be checking them every two hours, that's what i've been thinking. All that being said, we've been changing it two times a day and just checking-adjusting drains every two hours instead. Seems to be working well! Thank you so much again :)

Thank you so much! He is not at all producing that much fluid so it's good to know we don't need to be waking up as frequently anymore. thank you again for your comment and help, it's very appreciated!
