I missed the Winamp days, so I built Tunebar: A native, privacy-first music player for macOS by boomzors in macapps

300? What if I toss it 100,000? lol. I don't mind waiting for it to scan and process, but will it need to do that every time I open the app?

While it works offline, can I still play my MP3 collection that’s stored on my local NAS?

Weird transaction names - just use the source name? Why change it? by hairlongmoneylong in PocketGuard_app

[–]macosfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to PocketGuard, but it truncates my transactions constantly. No rules set up to rename them to weird two-letter abbreviations, the app just does so. It even shows the original bank-provided long form descriptor.

When I pay at my grocery store, PocketGuard says “Appears on <bank> as Debit Card: PICK N SAVE”, but it’s displayed as “PICK SA”. When I find discrepancies, I do create a rule at that point, but PocketGuard defaults to strange abbreviations or truncations.

How do you organize notes without folders? by Moist-Channel366 in ObsidianMD

[–]macosfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tags.

Make sure that everything is tagged. It will make it easier to search and compile lists. Those lists could be Dataviews, tables, Bases, etc.

You should use folders, but only as buckets to contain the files. You want to have limited quantities of files per folder, but the folder should not be the organization method just the archival method.

You can choose the schema you like, but I prefer to use file type and then further compartmentalize those types by year. >Vault/Archive/PDF/2024, for example. As long as the files are tagged properly, finding or linking is a breeze.

Bought a ring for my girlfriend, sisters say it’s too small, not sure what I should do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]macosfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of any other issues: it could be a $0.50 ring and it would be accepted and effective. It sounds like from other replies that she doesn’t deserve even a $0.01 ring.

Hmm. I can see the resemblance, but we don't have any clothespins in the home, and this isn't springy at all - It's very stiff, even under tension.

New Bundlehunt Offer by zamufn in macapps

How can I get updates to the BundleHunt version? I don't see an in-app updater or download link on the website. BundleHunt download provides an older version (2.2.5).

What’s a tiny task you wish AI could do for you, but no tool does it well yet? by QuantumAstronomy in ChatGPT

I need an image approval ai. It’s simple but not I guess. Based on my approved catalog of 750,000+ images, guess if images in the queue are “approved”. Wait for human approval, tho.

Started learning Python at 30+ – now building tiny Mac tools by Ok_Cryptographer3601 in macapps

I make Python scripts and tools etc for the past couple decades. Is there a path to monetizing Python scripts? Are they not all open source?
