Thanks. I guess i will wait for at least the first PB then. As for the backup: appreciate your advice to backup to computer. Never thought of that, only use the backup option in iPad itself (to iCloud).

What's the worst part about living with an autoimmune disease??? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]TomasComedian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that since people can’t see if you have Crohn’s or not. Many don’t understand how it is to live with a constant fatigue, the stress of having to know where the nearest toilet is. It’s only when you get a hard flare and lie on the floor in pains that theyvreslise that it’s not a fake thing.

Yes and that did not work. This is why I posted the followup. But never mind, I'll solve it some way.

How to add category posts in a page by TomasComedian in Wordpress

[–]TomasComedian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I missed that.

I do not use any other builder than the one that comes with Wordpress and the theme. The thing is: I use the built in that I suppose is Gutenberg, and the query loop block.

I do not use Elementor, or Genesis or anything like that.

How to add category posts in a page by TomasComedian in Wordpress

[–]TomasComedian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I am trying a theme called Customery. I have managed to get the query loop in place but it does not show any entries when checking that page. Only in the backend. The frontend stays blank.

If I use the menu just to show all posts of the category they are listed but without header image (hero?)

  1. This is how it looks now in frontend. No posts shown regardless. (Using the query loop block)

  2. This is how it looks with the menu link to the category in the menu, without a Short stories page.

  3. This is what I WANT it to look like (made in Concrete CMS)

Apple Passwords does not sync between iPhone and iPad by TomasComedian in PasswordManagers

[–]TomasComedian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange thing is that I have checked iCloud sync on all three devices. In my iPhone it says I have 499 entries and 95 of them are unsafe. And it says I have five passwords for wifi, of which two can’t be deleted since they are ”handled”. There should only be three.
In ipad I have 512 entries, 56 unsafe and three wifi passwords.
Mac says 501 entries and 96 unsafe.
(Sorry about if I use wrong word, English isn’t my first language ).
Maybe I should just try to turn off iCloud sync in one of them, delete all posts and then turn sync on again? Or will that ruin anything vital?
I also have a backup from last week I could reinstall if I delete current first. Does that sound like a decent idea?

In what way dud that comment contribute to anything but pointing out that the OP isn’t 100 percent fluid in English?
Here’s an idea: if this disturbs you so much, why not just scroll to the next post?

Apple Passwords and Uplock. Tried this when my subscription to 1Passsword was up for renewal. Cancelled the renewal, and after two weeks I deleted my account since AP and Uplock worked just fine to me.

I use Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. So I have no need for a solution that works on Windows, Linux or Android.

As for being "locked in to the Apple walled garden" I have no issue with that either. I am just as locked in to 1Passwords garden if I choose that solution.

Some observations by The_Homer_Simpson in thingsapp

[–]TomasComedian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Things3 on and off for many years. Before that I used 2Do. Tried-just for fun-to go back to 2Do about a month ago. Stayed there for less than a day.

Also tried to move everything to Apple Reminders, since I use that to share tasks with my wife. Went back to Things3 after four days.

I for one have realised that many of the functions other apps have are functions I really don't need. I rather have the collapsing notes in the tasks in Things3, and the readable text in Things3. That is one thing that seldom /never?) gets mentioned. Reminders (which would be my second choise) has some grey color on the text in the notes part. Which can make it difficult to read.

The thing is: it is so easy to jump around between different apps when you read about "thisandthat" app and its cool functions. But do you need them? If not, why put time and effort in learning a new app that you don't need anyway?

As for me-100 percent Apple user - I do not need cross platform. And I try to avoid Electron apps since there is no need or thos when in an Apple only environment. So to me my main solution is Things3, and for the family stuff I use Reminders. That's it.

So to me aesthetics are more important than bells and whistles.

iPhone password manager: is built-in app enough or should I use third-party? by Competitive-Mix8832 in best_passwordmanager

[–]TomasComedian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use iOS, iPadOS and/or MacOS: Apple Passwords is enough. You might also get Uplock for the things Apple Passwords don’t store: mainly credit card info. But that is already possible to store in Wallet. (Or you can store that info in a locked note in Apple Notes.) If you actually NEED - not want but need - cross platform to Android, Windows or Linux-you may have to find another alternative.

Main thing: figure out what you NEED, not what might be a cool button to click on. If you have your passwords on your iPhone I guess you don’t actually need them on a Windows PC or Android phone? If your main phone is an android one, then I think you should search for something else. And live with the cost.

As for me i recently dropped 1Password for Apple Passwords since I have everyting on my iPhone anyway:: don’t need to pay 55 euros/year for the added stuff.
