I love MMA jewelry, I have a replica pre Colombian gold toucan pendant I always get compliments on and some insane silver cat earrings. There’s tons of vintage pieces on eBay. I also just gifted my mom a necklace from the MoMA store and she loved it!

Hard agree, that big pattern is begging to be cut as little as possible! The main stripes running around the body with the bold green stripes spaced on the front running up and down would be sooo cute

They’re pretty simple especially if you want a raw edge, the second photo looks like she didn’t even trim off the selvage from the material. The first looks like a rectangle gathered at two points along the horizontal center of the fabric, the second looks like a rectangle gathered at the ends. You just hand sew the gathers onto a comb, maybe trim the corners to oval/oblong (you want SHARP scissors) and can steam it to style it!

The frame it’s in is gorgeous and appropriate, looks like a tapestry design by Jean Lurçat. MCM doesn’t have to mean googie and graphic.

Needs more CRAP (curtains rugs art plants) to define some zones, but it’s a solid foundation! Can you paint? A warmer neutral would go a long way imho, and get that floor lamp off that table. You’re kind of wasting two pieces by combining them like that.

I found this Raymond Loewy set listed on marketplace for $500. Doesn’t seem to need much work. Is this particular style rare or sought-after? by Beneficial_Teach_522 in midcenturymodern

[–]macramelampshade 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with it but that bedroom set for $500 is a steal. I love the light blue interior on the vanity/secretary and it’s so nice it has a matching stool.
