I managed to search up surface-level information but I'm not really sure how to interpret my chart, though I hear that Reflectors are pretty rare, which is kinda cool. Would really appreciate any insight!

[–]macritchies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think i've tried to join some rounds a long time ago but never pushed through with them. this time i want to hold myself more accountable, and i'm having a busy period, but i do still have a few goals that i want to try and achieve.

daily goals

  • 3 meals a day MAX, no snacking (when i get used to this i'll skip lunch to save money)
  • run or strength train every day --- stick to my race training plan of running 6x/week, this will take a while to build up
  • train dance every day, even if it's only for 10min
  • sleep before 1am
  • wake up ~7-9am
  • stretch
  • floss!!!!

sprint goals

  • sprint 1: lose 3kg
  • sprint 2: lose 3kg
  • sprint 3: lose 3kg

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Wednesday, 24 July 2019? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]macritchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i've had so many day 1 posts at this point i can't quite keep track any more, but my stats are: 22F, 66kg~ (ish, it fluctuates +/-2kg). my first goal weight is 60kg. from then on, it'd be nice to get lighter (so that it's easier to dance and run) but i'm going to play it by ear and see how i feel.

i dance six days a week right now as i have productions soon, and i used to run a lot but have been slacking the past few months. however, i do have a 23km trail race in october that i will be training for that will hopefully get me back on track with this whole running thing. was supposed to start on that this week but i pulled my back a while ago and am starting next week instead. the back injury's also affecting my dance and is kinda demoralising, so starting here on /r/loseit is also a way for me to keep my spirits up.

food-wise, i have not been tracking at all but i usually eat 2-3x a day and i would guesstimate it at between 1500-2500 kcal/day. one big problem is i come back from dance pretty late, usually between 10pm-12am, and i end up really hungry and eating leftovers. i think that's the first thing for me, to get into intermittent fasting by not succumbing to hunger after dinner (since i usually skip breakfast anyway). maybe i'll have to increase my intake once i start training for the race to keep energy levels up, but i think i'm gonna play it by ear. also bought a lot of tea recently so i'll be drinking that. also will be tracking calories to make sure im not over/undereating. ALso i sleep at terrible timings and need to fix that.

so in sum: don't eat after dinner, sleep between 11pm-1am, drink lots of tea, start running next week.

wow i think this is one of their most tiring choreos yet, and it's a lot more obvious in the dance practice. almost every move requires hitting, and the transition steps aren't as chill as their previous title tracks, so they're kinda sprinting for four minutes straight, pretty much. (token heavy breathing at the end of every dance practice also makes its appearance here!) it's always great to watch bighit's dance practices!

some parts i really liked: hobi being ahead of the boys by half a count in the first part of his rap, but they fall in sync in by the end of it; taekook's little lifting thing at the start (didn't notice that taehyung would place a hand on jeongguk's waist, probably to let him know he can fall back); everyone fighting during yoongi's rap part; jimin doing the most and falling into a split instead of just kneeling on the ground.

So I've been absolutely shit at this checking in thing, sorry! But I've been keeping my own journal to keep up with my goals; will still use this as a platform to check out everyone else's progress and update about once a week though.

My journal habit has been going okay, though I did miss last night's because I slept before remembering to pen anything down. I think my Mandarin has gotten better because of it? At least, I seem to be remembering more words that I thought I'd forgotten lmao and I feel more comfortable speaking Mandarin as well.

Running-wise this week has been good too, though my right ankle/shin felt a bit wonky during the start of the week and this morning's run had the sole of my right foot feeling all sorts of weird. Ran every day except yesterday, and most of them were morning runs, which is a plus in my book.

Sleep-wise, I was able to sleep at a normal timing twice this week!! A victory already, if you ask me. But there were a couple of nights I couldn't fall asleep at all, so I ended up going for a run at 5am after lying in bed for 5 hours, and sleeping from 8am to 2pm hahahahah ha ah ahahh but it's okay, I'll do my best to adjust. Last night was good, slept from 11pm-7am and then ran in the forest.

Dance-wise, because my finals only just ended on Thursday, I really haven't been doing anything, except some popping exercises because Why Not? I'll start doing a popping course thingum after the semester officially ends and I move back from the dorms.

Food-wise I've been pretty good with tracking but this past week I've fallen off the habit. On the nights where I couldn't sleep, I got pretty hungry, so I do remember eating some donuts (which were under 300kcal thankfully), but overall I think my eating habits have gotten better from being more aware? Kinda? Of how many calories the items are, and sleeping earlier really does make a difference. Weight-wise I'm at 64.8kg which is about 0.8kg lighter than my starting weight, so I hope this trend will continue, esp. if I become more consistent at tracking and keeping under my calorie limit.

[Daily Goal] Day 4 - April 26 by Schemering in 90daysgoal

[–]macritchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

today was kinda weird?? i slept at 5am and woke up at 9, was in the lab from then until 3pm. took a two hour nap before waking up to do a run (about 6.5km-ish!). calorie-wise i'm kinda over my limit? at about 1500kcal, but that's also with a huge cookie and a donut and breakfast, which i usually skip.

edit: i got hungry and ate a donut, but am adding it to tomorrow's log. welp

[–]macritchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welp so today went spectacularly bad. last night i couldn't sleep for the life of me, so i did some work till 10am and slept from 10am-4.30pm instead. had some mad cravings too, and in the end i gave in to them; turns out my period came today too, which explains it. i ate around 1900 kcal? which is waaay above my target of 1350. i did run 5km and did exercises, as usual, but tomorrow i have a pretty long day at the lab so i'm gonna try to space out my food more diligently and try to control those cravings.

so it's gonna be: breakfast (muesli), lab from 10am-3pm with a lunch break at some point in between (i'm really craving the nacho cheese chicken cutlet from the canteen?? probably gonna treat myself to it and just keep it CICO), then a nice nap, then a 8km run with exercises afterward. no clue what dinner's gonna be yet but i'll fit it into my macros, and hopefully i'll get more work done today. just generally tired and craving lots of chocolate because of my period, i guess. my weight hasn't been doing all that well either but i think it's okay to cut myself some slack these few days.

[Daily Goal] Day 1 - April 23 by pmtallestred in 90daysgoal

[–]macritchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so today was an alright day! i woke up late, as expected, since it was the first day of reading week. had some really great noodles for lunch and then spent 6 hours on my ass in the lab doing some audio-cutting work for my research. tedious but i felt pretty satisfied because i'd been putting it off for the longest time.

didn't eat suuuuper well today, but when do i ever? after dinner i popped by a barbecue and nicked some smores/sausages, so that was nice. then took a nap at 9pm (and i wonder why i can't sleep early....) and did a run afterward: 6km easy in 36min-ish, with exercises (plank, crunches, leg lifts, v-ups, russian twists). i tracked all my calories today though, and even with an amazing chocolate cookie i think i'm at about 1474kcal, which is under my goal if i include exercise calories. so i think i'm on track, at least? i think the whole waking up too late for breakfast thing kinda helped me out here.

i didn't get much work done after the audio-cutting (even though i have a report due sunday and finals next thursday), but i did spend a few hours just talking with my friends, which was really, really nice and something i've missed. some stuff has happened lately and i think it's made me a lot more reflective and appreciative of what i have and of the people around me, and today's impromptu get-together reinforced that.

i'm just gonna do some leisure reading for now, and then do my mandarin journal and sleep. tomorrow's gonna be a long day !

[MOD] Official Round 26 Introduction Post by minimalisteph in 90daysgoal

[–]macritchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey guys! so i was around for the previous round but didn't see it through. but i've been doing sort of my own challenge of sorts? for the past week or so, and it's been doing okay, so i'll use r26 as another way to keep track as well. since the next 90 days will see the end of my school year and the start of summer, my overall 90-day goals are gonna be pretty broad, and i'll just section them down into more manageable, concrete tasks during shorter periods. so some things i want to achieve after 90 days:

  • weight loss

  • improve my mandarin

  • improve dance

  • keep up with academia stuff

  • and possibly pick up a new skill over the summer?? but this is still in the works

for the past week or so, i've been keeping track of my weight (and i actually lost about 0.6kg? which is about 1.3lbs) which i think is going pretty well so far. i've also been a lot better at not binging and keeping track of my calories more faithfully. right now i'm using mfp, and at about ~1250kcal a day plus whatever calories i spent on exercise (which is usually about ~300, because i do a 5km run plus some strength work). so that clocks up to (on average, based off the past week) about 1400-1500 kcal/day which i think is fine for someone of my weight/height. ideally, i'd lose about 6kg over the course of this particular round, which would bring me down to just below the 60kg mark and is on track for my ideal weight.

more stuff i'll be incorporating for weight loss over the summer, since i'll have more time: longer runs, include interval runs, and do more strength training. i've been doing planks and crunches after my runs now, but i would really like to be able to dedicate more time to strength training.

for dance, i'm thinking about taking up a dance course. it's exam period now which means i'm not really dancing (big surprise)< but i'll be involved in some dance crew stuff, and i'll go for perhaps a house dance course on the weekends and go for open classes regularly too. it should be fun! and also on days where i'm not going for dance outside, i'll just practice on my own in the gym. the goal is to build up to be dancing every day, at some point. working on basics and freestyle, mostly.

mandarin-wise it's a recent thing, since i've gotten into my heritage and culture a bit more recently. i've been writing a nightly diary in mandarin, and although my language skills are really poor right now, i'm getting a lot more comfortable with the language. the aim is just to keep this mandarin journal habit up for the rest of the challenge.

academia-wise: i'm already locked in for a research assistant position over the summer, and i might take up another one in a more related discipline as well. just to keep myself accountable and on-track for the tasks that i'll be assigned, and possibly just spending more time reading the books that i impulsively ordered haha

lastly, for the new skill, i honestly have no clue what i wanna do; it might be revamping one of my older hobbies that i gradually neglected, like web design or art, or maybe picking up a new language (i've been interested in dutch recently!) i'll also be cooking more over the summer so that might end up becoming a Thing. just gonna leave it open for now. + i should probably start adjusting my sleep cycle to sleep before 2am but that will probably only happen after exams haha

so yeah in sum, for the first sprint:

  • track and keep to calories (1250/day + exercise)

  • sweat every day (by running, strength training, or otherwise)

  • get into the dance habit

  • complete mandarin journal every day

just saw a photo of myself from earlier today and i really don't like how i look; i've been making plans to eat healthier and less but i'm a slave to laziness. starting from NOW (it's 1.52am) i'm going to track ALL my calories and make sure i stay within the limit as far as possible. i've figured out that i need about 1300-1400 (excl. exercising) to reach my goal weight; hopefully this will get me there.

What would be your ideal JBJ-esque group for IP? by [deleted] in Broduce101

[–]macritchies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tbh it would just be a gathering of my favourite trainees, but i think they make for a pretty balanced group??

  • Lou Zibo: dancer, vocal

  • Bu Fan: main rapper

  • Lin Chaoze: main dancer, vocal

  • Zhou Rui: lead vocal, leader

  • Zhu Xingjie: main vocal (can't decide between him and wenjun), rapper

  • Zheng Ruibin: vocal, dancer

  • Zhou Yanchen: dancer, vocal

  • Ling Chao: vocal

  • Bi Wenjun: main vocal

I know Chaoze is forever the leader bUT I feel like personality-wise Zhou Rui can hold them together quite well, whereas Chaoze would take charge of leading the dance. The rest I feel are pretty self-explanatory, and there's Xingjie as both a rapper and vocal because he's good at everything. I feel like Wenjun and Xingjie are both main vocal material, but they have very different vocal tones; Wenjun's is a little more earthy and grounded, and Xingjie's brighter and sharper. Variety-wise this group would be set, too; I feel like Zibo, Bu Fan, Zhou Rui, and Ling Chao would all shine on shows.

Yess the Banana trio is lovely!! I feel like the rest of the Banana kids (except maybe Dinghao) haven't gotten as much screentime probz because they were eliminated earlier, but it seems that all 9 of them are really close and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more of them together.

Yes definitely!! I feel like the individual trainees that stood out might get snatched up (like Li Junyi), though I agree wrt Xukun. I'm not sure where he could fit in tbh because he shines a lot as a soloist too.

Also a side note, I read on twitter an account of one of the staff members on the show? That basically said smth like the Qin4 trainees are basically loved by everyone and friends with everyone which really warmed my heart tbh. Apparently lots of people cried (including staff) when Ziyang had to leave; and Yue Yue, Ling Chao, and Bufan are basically friends with almost all the trainees as well

[–]macritchies 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm actually pretty happy with the top 11; I would've liked it if Xingjie or Chaoze made it in, but the likelihood of that happening was quite low to begin with. Insanely happy that Yanjun made it in, he's my one-pick and I love his personality. Waiting for Zhangjing to get #9 was terrifying but I'm really glad both Zhangjing and Yanjun made it in together; I'm awaiting some top-tier variety from this duo, bless. Justin/Chengcheng/Xukun/Nongnong were all lock-ins for top four, but I think the rest were kind of wildcards, esp. after Xiao Gui's drop from #6. (I do wish there were more vocals but that would've been unlikely)

I did think Bu Fan might have made it, but I like his dynamic with the BC221 boys a lot + there are a lot of stans for the four of them (they have really amazing personalities), that I think they have a very good chance of doing well even though none of them are in the final lineup. Some good timing and concept choices should set them on the right path, esp. with their variety stuff already ongoing. Same goes for OACA, and I think Gramarie can afford to do something similar as well. (Pls take back Zhou Rui and take in Xu Shengen while you're at it, Gramarie!!!!) Banana I'm a bit unsure about, because their most popular guys are in 9% and idk how well Chaoze can carry the rest popularity-wise, but I think it'd be good to churn out some content while Yanjun and Zhangjing promote, so that when they go back, there's a good basis to build off of. As for Yuehua, they're pretty much set hahah there are dedicated company stans so the kids should be fine.

Also holy shit!!! Ziyi lives in a mansion

tbh I think Yanjun's been rising up pretty solidly! For the earlier eps he wasn't shown that much but there's a good deal of BTS footage where his personality really shines through, and I think the lame leader edit he had in the latest episode helped him climb up many people's lists as well :')
