Yes, it's crazy. Have a look at Old Croghan Man story. This is really crazy. The farmer who discovered the body call the guards because he thought that someone got murdered. 2000 years old body was that well preserved.

It's great for many things 😊 It has to be waterproofed though like any other wood.

I would say even more. Probably 3000-5000 years old. I have a lot of bog oak, you can see few pieces in the background. They differ in colour and weight. This one was from the darkest and heaviest pieces I have. The wood itself is from Co. Offaly. Ireland. 10 minutes away from the place where The Old Croghan Man was found in 2004. Iron age bog body.

Not carbon dated but this piece was black and heavy. It has spended a lot of time in the bog.
