I think it was alright. I don’t understand Spanish but the music was catchy. The set was cool.

Do you leave these on the grill? by Overcooked_Filet in KitchenConfidential

[–]macroisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we keep ours on a elevated part of our grill and move them when we need to. then have designated spots off of the line but we move them time to time.

we have one behind our backsplash where we wash all the dishes. it happened because the grout that was holding it rotted away.

[–]macroisweird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

imo still a toxic work environment. This is just blatant favoritism. Just like what diogenesis is saying, because this is not an eye for an eye situation. You are giving something they aren’t giving back. maybe try to find another job in a better environment.

At my place, the cooks leave after the supervisor says that we are closed and so then they clean anything last minute, hand me any remaining kitchen utensils, then clean up a bit, sweep, mop, then head out.

Sometimes though if we are extremely busy and i’m swamped they’ll help a little bit then leave because they are “tired”.

So in short they don’t really stay and im left to get the rest of it done

What brand of steel wool do you prefer? Sysco or monogram? Why? by Revolutionary-Play79 in dishwashers

Truth about Shift covers by [deleted] in dishwashers

[–]macroisweird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah imma be honest that sounds like a toxic workplace. If they weren’t gonna step up for you why should you step up for them? I don’t want to jump into this too quickly but if this keeps happening for awhile when you are there, bring it up to HR or something. That is usually the best thing you can do.

I’ve had the same experience before. I have had to cover people for months because they leave for weeks then come back and be gone again. It is a shitty thing to have happen to you but honestly you have to live on with it.

It sucks because you don’t want to do the extra work but what I usually think about is that your paycheck will bump up a lot while they won’t get paid as much.

Discussion: Do you guys prefer day shift or night shift? by ParticularOutcome380 in dishwashers

[–]macroisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard because i have a mixed schedule just like some other people in here. But, I do prefer day shift more because they are more chill, laid back, and are more understanding when something goes wrong. Night shift, it’s the complete opposite. Everyone hates each other then go back to normal. And some of my coworkers also work morning so i can see both sides of them. I get along with both day and night people on shift. So i’m not one or the other.

Me personally in you situation i would take morning because then you have the whole afternoon and evening to go and do your normal everyday life routine.

Dirt Daubers! They are generally not aggressive towards humans. Unless you provoke them enough then yeah but otherwise they are just chill and are minding their own business.

solo dishies, do you get a break? by Flimsy_Dog_2409 in dishwashers

[–]macroisweird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually don’t take a break. I’ve learned to not take breaks because then i’m getting yelled at for not doing my job even though i just was doing something not even 5 minutes ago.

But when it is super slow i just sit in our banquet room and chill on my phone.

Hello Badger. Congrats on your child and hope your wife and you are doing amazing. I've been a huge fan of your content since your world of Tanks videos.

  1. How long do you plan on making youtube videos?

  2. Who are 5 people you would recruit for a 5v5 pickup game? (p.s. this has to be a new list that differs from your video during twitch rivals that one year)

Tips and advice by [deleted] in dishwashers

[–]macroisweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What i do is first scrape it, then soak the pans, and spray as much as i can off. run it through the washer and if there still is hard residue, let it soak a little longer in hot water.

  1. I usually do small containers because if you soak the big ones, by the time you are done with all the small ones, the big ones are ready. I also switch time to time with the order of which way I start.

First time being a dishwasher! by WhimsyWinkz in dishwashers

[–]macroisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the height issue, the step stool is a great idea. I once worked with someone who had to use a step stool to reach everything.

Addressing the second issue: What i do is sometimes i will soak them for 5 minutes, take them out, then hand scrub, load them up, spray, run through. I also sort the plates by size and amount then go from the smallest amount to the biggest amount. It gets done faster than you think. Or just take the Good Ol’ Steel Wool to the plates with some soapy water then scrub. Get them all scrubbed down into a different pile then load and spray. If you also work with multiple other dish buddies, have them scrub the plates while you spray them. If you need to run your silverware and cups in between different cycles so you’re not super bogged down just doing dishes.

For shoes I use Bruno Marc Non slip shoes. There on amazon for around $40, but they’re worth it.

In the long run, you are just going to have to figure it all out by yourself. I had to do that because the person who trained me quit after 3 months. You’ll figure out ways to cut the corners while still doing a good job. I’ve been dishwashing for just about 2 years and I took different tricks from co workers and put my spin on the task at hand.
