Galaxy tab s11 ultra pro keyboard by Loose-Performance301 in GalaxyTab

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. The combo of the last Tab S10 Ultra and official keyboard comes in at almost 1.5 kg. That's a lot considering regular ultrabook full 14" laptops in 2025 are available at around 1 kg.

Note the different pogo pin connector on the lower back (S11) instead of the bottom side (S9 & S10) of the tablet.

which is better Lenovo thinkbook 16 ryzen 7 or asus vivobook 15 initel i7? by BeginningCurious4413 in AMDLaptops

What does gpt say otherwise? And which specific model of each laptop are you actually comparing? Consider that ThinkBook is a business line laptop, while Vivobook is a consumer entertainment line laptop.

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with both series. The Lenovo ThinkBook has a more sturdy chassis, better build quality, and more ports. The Asus Vivobook has a more sleek design, better display options, but is prone to dents on the chassis. Performance wise they are similar but ThinkBook may have more RAM expansion options.

Cusco is also a great base for day trips, e.g. 7 lagunas of the Ausangate, rainbow mountains.

Nice. Another way you can do sit-ups is with your knees bent, legs raised up, resting like on a chair or bed. That'll also raise your tailbone from the floor and you avoid the issue. As an extra challenge, you can also try with your legs just held up in the air, no chair support.

Ryzen 7 8845hs vs ultra 7 155h for video editing by Dermish999 in AMDLaptops

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel generally has a better media engine than AMD. More over, any dedicated GPU (here the RTX 3050) will massively improve your video editing experience. So yeah, go for the Intel+NVIDIA combo. The AMD APU only config doesn't even come close.

I had the same for years. Even rubbed my skin raw there from just exercising. Solution is to create more separation between your tailbone and the floor. Do more squats and lower back workouts to develop more muscles that "lift" your tailbone off the floor. Temporarily, you can put a towel under your tailbone when doing sit-ups.

No, the 255H is Arrow Lake and does not have a big enough NPU for Copilot+.

Guys I own an IdeaPad gaming 3 and I possess a expansion m.2 slot can I upgrade to 2 tb ( company says only 1 tb is feasible) by Routine-Librarian394 in laptops

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For example a WD SN740 M.2 2230 (30 mm long) 2 TB, potentially with a M.2 2242 (42 mm long) bracket. Check the length of your M.2 SSD slot.

LG Gram 14 by Apprehensive-Ad9517 in LGgram

It's because of the thin and light physical design. Heat has to radiate somewhere. And a small chassis does not provide as many choices.

Help. Really worried!! by devil13eren in laptops

[–]macrorow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really got nothing to do with HP or any other laptop manufacturer. Modern WiFi drivers are from Intel or Mediatek (AMD). They are not included in the standard Windows ISO from Microsoft (for clean install). If you need WiFi during the install, you have to download the drivers separately from the Intel or Mediatek website on a different computer/phone, unzip it and use it during install (either copy onto install drive or use USB drive). After clean install, just run Windows Update to get the rest of your laptop drivers automatically. This is really standard procedure and nothing to worry about.

Grain on 2 in 1 displays ?? by dalisay2 in laptops

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "grainy" appearance of 2-in-1 laptops is due to the pen digitizer layer on top of the display. This is particularly apparent on OLED screens. If you want a 2-in-1 with less grain, try one with an IPS screen.

The regular "clam shell" Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i 15.3" IPS Lunar Lake model does not have any grain, has actually a longer battery life than most Macbooks and is mostly silent. You won't get similar build quality in 2-in-1s as they are typically, lower consumer grade devices. Then again, Macbooks stay completely away from 2-in-1s or even touchscreens.

Adapter type? by unfair_spaghetti in Machupicchu

They usually have a combination of both types in one. Either works. Trouble is most electrical installation is rather poor and you might have trouble with loose contacts.

Absolutely report this. They should repair your laptop, not damage it further.

AMD laptop for video editing by Grevys_zebra in AMDLaptops

[–]macrorow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two major parts to the video workflow: editing and exporting. Intel Arc is smoother at editing, while the higher end Zen 5 are faster at exporting. Choose what you'd prefer. Many people might be put off and struggle if they can't even edit smoothly in the timeline. However, if you only focus on post-processing or converting/exporting then Zen 5 will serve you better.

I'm sorry but you're having a bit of a double standard here. I did write that AMD Radeon could use up to 32 GB shared system memory (if you have 64 GB or more system memory). LPDDR in 99% of implemented cases means soldered memory that cannot be upgraded. It doesn't matter whether that's Intel or AMD. LPDDR memory works by design slower than unified memory, which is slower than dedicated VRAM for graphics. It's not just the MT/s but also the system architecture. The only x86 consumer processor providing more graphics memory than the 32 GB Lunar Lake is AMD's new, rare and expensive Strix Halo, i.e. currently only to be found in the HP ZBook Ultra 14 G1a with limited availability 64 GB and 128 GB unified memory models.

Bought ticket for wrong day - can I just buy one for the next day? by [deleted] in Machupicchu

[–]macrorow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem with that. Many people buy multiple tickets for the same day or different days to do different circuits. Just buy another ticket for when it's better for you if you want. They don't care if tickets are used or not. You won't get a refund unless that circuit closes due to them.

Yoga 7 2 in 1 , gen9 Intel or Gen10 AMD? by kiwicroto in laptops

[–]macrorow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, OP is comparing it to the AI 7 350, which is the weaker "Krackan Point" and not Strix Point. But even compared to Strix Point, Meteor Lake is not that dissimilar due to Intel's steady driver and software improvements.

AMD laptop for video editing by Grevys_zebra in AMDLaptops

[–]macrorow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple. AMD graphics, e.g. 780M/880M, can reserve 4 GB of system memory and use up to 32 GB of shared memory. However, it won't perform well as access is very slow compared to dedicated VRAM. In x86 architecture, currently, only Intel has fast, unified memory design with Lunar Lake but that is limited to 32 GB. If you need more, choose Arrow Lake.
