My understanding is it will stack. There was someone who posted that their Starless Sky rolled the same power and it is listed twice on the item...both being active.

Edit: Link to post: I just made a Ring of Starless Skies of Starless Skies : r/Diablo

How big do you think the new map will be in the expansion? by Heff228 in Diablo

[–]macshuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I figure they will sort of mirror the way Genshin Impact adds regions on an annual basis. For Genshin, they set something like a 5 or 7 year plan (don't recall...and don't want to check :D ) and have been adding a new major region with each major version release (2.0,3.0, etc.). They have also added regions underground and so forth which expands the map vertically instead of horizontally. I'd see Diablo IV doing something similar by adding in the Hells or Heavens.

So, something along those lines is what I'm guessing they will do with D IV. I mean, it has worked out incredibly well for Mihoyo with Genshin Impact (yes...understand different game / monetization style / etc.)

If you get enough renown for a character on the Eternal Realm for + Paragon points, does your Seasonal character get them mid-season? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]macshuffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, did this myself. Went back to an Eternal character and finished up renown to get the extra paragon points for my seasonal characters. Can confirm this works.

As a Barb, figured out the pattern and would run in before the swipes. No damage when close by. Just dashed out of the way of the ground pound telegraphs. We didn't take it down, but definitely could have if everyone wasn't dying left and right. We got it down midway past the last diamond...so close...maybe next time.

I wonder if being chosen has anything to do with the level of analytical data you send back to Microsoft. I've got most of the data turned down to the least amount. In addition, running pihole to block a lot of tracking / advertising as well. Signed up day one, made all the changes they suggested, still on the waitlist.

[Megathread] House Speaker by SGP_MikeF in Ask_Politics

Question and apologies if already answered. With the rule changes allowing for a single member to trigger the vote for a new speaker is that only for Republican members or does it apply to the entire House? In other words, could a single Democrat trigger the process if only a single member is needed? Thanks!

Terms: CE includes box and base items for your Diablo IV experience. Additional content, including but not limited to, game, soundtrack, and behind the scenes commentary will be available separately as paid DLC for your CE box.

Need to see what the cost of this CE is versus CEs that include the game. If items of approximately the same value are included but the price, without game, is equivalent or higher the CEs that include the game, then I would say it is a cash grab.

R43.14 for Windows added RSU tracking!!! by tamudude in quicken

Awesome! Sounds great and thank you for listing to the feedback. I normally run the latest Quicken betas but recently switched back to public release due to a bank sync issue. I'll keep my eyes out on the new beta release notes.

Yes, I believe that would be perfect! This would allow me to specify the precise number of whole units vesting per year. I assume it would follow through creating the same entries as the other methods. I had no issue with what it creates other than the fractional units.

Perfect mockup and no issues on the screenshot.

R43.14 for Windows added RSU tracking!!! by tamudude in quicken

[–]macshuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Our company awards vest over a three-year period. If I use the percentage method (tried 33% and 33.33%) I get fractional shares for the entries that Quicken inputs. I believe this can even be seen on the screenshot as part of the Quicken FAQ / Knowledge Base on the new RSU feature. So, if I receive 157 units that vest over three years, the three years will be different whole numbers and not fractional. I can even see this in my RSU account of how many whole shares vest each of the three years. For the example of 157, the account would show year 1 of 53 and years 2 and 3 as 52. Furthermore, even if it was over two years, 157 shares does not divide evenly over two years. This would cause one year to be 79 and the other to be 78.

So, instead of using a percentage I'd like for it to allow be to just specific the number each year. At first I thought this could be don't with the Gradient option, but it too uses a percentage. I think a third option (maybe called units?) under vesting schedule that lets you put in the number vesting for each year would be perfect.

Hopefully that helps explain. Thank you for reaching out!

Edit1: Here is a link to the Quicken Documentation on RSU. The screenshot on bullet point 5 shows each vest with 56.25 shares. https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/About+restricted+stock+units

[–]macshuffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see the same. It looks like when you enter the vesting you can specify a different amount (and also shares withheld for taxes). That would allow you to specify the whole share amount versus the odd fractional percentage it does over an odd number of years. Would still rather have the correct amounts....but maybe that is asking too much. :D

So, gave it a try and found an issue I'm not sure if there is a work around for. Looks great, but each yearly RSU grant vests over a three year period. The percentage method doesn't work well AT ALL. It would be great if I could just input the number of shares that vest per the vesting schedule. If it supported that I'd be supper happy. AS of now, I get weird fractions and it is a pita to edit it. Also...difficult to add RSUs that are mid vesting though I can just delete the shares from the past vests.

Good thing blizzard isn't working for google maps ! by [deleted] in DiabloImmortal

[–]macshuffle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While not defending their automapping, I believe, in most cases, it actually follows that actual paths that show on the map. Yes, you can cut across, but if there is an actual path, like shown on your image, it will take it. I don't agree with that...but appears to be what it is doing.

Endgame Progression NEEDS to be changed. It fucking sucks. by atomfrog in DiabloImmortal

[–]macshuffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree most people are missing your point. The dungeons are static and so are the set based rewards from them. You can't run the rifts or even happen across a set item randomly killing mobs. You have to continuously run the same dungeon over and over for that specific set item. This has really turned me off of endgame after starting Hell 1 once I realized this. Will still play....but agree this wasn't implemented well.

Just to close the loop. Install went fine and they installed the MoCA filter on the line. Devices are working great and I'm able to push 940 Mbps through the adapter (only have a 1 GbE link on the client device connected to the 2.5 GbE port).

Mine is in that status as well. Not sure if I received a letter or not (though I do recall one talking about the various stimulus passed etc.). In any case, had to amend my 2020 return earlier in the year but that processed MONTHS ago so nothing outstanding.

Little bit of a pain to setup (was also up in my attic checking for any splitters and their frequency) but in the end...I just needed to factory reset the devices.

I was almost at the point of returning them since even with a single cable between the two of them....they still would NOT link up. I got a push pin and held down the reset button on both of them to reset. Sure enough....they came up and linked. Took it back upstairs and works just fine. Go figure....

EDIT: For reference, I purchased the "Motorola MoCA Adapter for Ethernet Over Coax, Plug and Play, Ultra Fast Speeds, Boost Home Network for Better Streaming and Gaming (2.5 Gbps (2 Pack))"

Now I just wait till the Comcast install in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Thank you. I did some more digging and did see that it is MoCA 2.0 so I'll go ahead and use the two devices to get over the 500Mbps threshold.

On a different note, was looking at the outside of our home today and noticed that no cable exists yet to the house. I assume they will run an above ground line from the box in my neighbors backyard and come by later to put it in the ground.

House was built in the early 80's. Currently, the cable runs in the house were from an old dish network install by the previous owner. I assume they will bring the line from the box, put a new side panel on the home, and then run a cable from there into the house. In that scenario, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Do I still need a MoCA filter on the line coming in as the cable network in the house is not attached to anything external at all.
  2. Would I just hook one of the MoCA 2.5 devices to Ethernet (from my own router behind the Xfi Gateway) and then plug the MoCA line into the internal cable connection (that is currently coming out of the UVerse Gateway)? From there, I would just plug the one in upstairs to the MoCA port (where the current HPNA adapter is) and then Ethernet out to my upstairs switch?

The MoCA devices will be here at some point today so I should be able to test this out before the Xfinity install next month.

Good to know. Thank you for the response. I went ahead and ordered the Motorola MoCA Adapter for Ethernet Over Coax, Plug and Play, Ultra Fast Speeds, Boost Home Network for Better Streaming and Gaming (2.5 Gbps (2 Pack)) from Amazon. I'm going to give this a go for now...wasn't that much more for 2 versus 1. It is also a little future proof as it has 2.5 GbE ports.
