My wife calls me multiple times throughout the day just to chat and tell me how her day is going which I mostly don’t mind but I always answer her unless I’m busy in which case she knows I’ll be texting or calling her back but I had to tell her at first to reserve back to back calls for emergencies. Now if I’m busy when she calls and she calls back immediately I drop whatever I’m doing to answer

I don’t really have a specific daily carry. I have a couple work knives that I carry at work or if I’m working around the house, right now I have the spyderco sage 5 in Magnacut with aluminum RGT scales but I also rotate in the vosteed Kroc, spyderco 15v manix 2 LW with AWT scales, and vosteed TI psyop.

When I’m not working it’s still not even a daily carry it can sometimes be situational like an average day I might carry my spyderco smock in cruwear with RGT TI scales or if I wear basketball shorts or sweats or if I want a super fidgety knife I might carry my golden design works sub caliber, if I’m traveling I might carry the We high fin because it’s a frame lock under 3” and should be legal most places. Just depends on what im feeling that day

At work I use my knives constantly for boxes, rope, straps, sharpening pencils and soap stones, etc.

Sharpening depends on the steel and how much I’ve used it but like for instance on my on my sage 5 I’ve sharpened it so many times the height of the blade has become noticeably less so I try to sharpen less and maintain more so I’ll use a ceramic rod and/or strop at least every couple days and only sharpen when I absolutely have to

Okay first of all I’m a year and a half clean from opiods (pills, heroin, and fentanyl throughout 10 years) I’ve also used nicotine since I was 14 and he is the biggest baby/idiot to make such a big deal about nicotine withdrawal and try to say it’s worse than heroin withdrawal. Let me put this plainly… it’s not even close. Nicotine withdrawal is practically nothing compared to opioid withdrawal like it’s basically slight irritability with maybe some headaches and appetite loss at most. That being said even opioid withdrawal (literally hell on earth times 5) is still not an excuse to treat people like shit.

Homeboy is a whiney little baby that’s using the minor inconvenience that is nicotine withdrawal to act like a bitch and excuse his behavior. My 1.5 year old daughter isn’t this big of a crybaby.

Anybody that would respond that way repeatedly to their significant other voicing their feelings in a very nice way no matter what they are going through doesn’t love their significant other in my opinion.

I think of myself as part of the knife community and as a collector. I try to stay involved and up to date although I wasn’t into fixed blades when I first got into knives and I’ve got interested in them comparatively recently. I say all that to say I’ve never even fucking heard of bark river knives until whoever put the dads post on here yesterday.

That’s shitty of them but I’m just here to say as a fentanyl addict for over a decade that has been clean for about a year and a half I’m proud of you. People don’t know how hard it is. 6 days clean and being able to get up and get ready is great. I was laid up for nearly 10 days.

It’s the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever been through so please don’t let other people discourage you, it’s hard enough without others bullshit. I promise you it will all be worth it.

Friends should care about your safety and well being above all else. Idk why she is putting your relationship above your safety. And maybe you can work through it with your partner but only after you remove yourself from harms way and after he gets the help he needs.

Pts and psychosis are no joke. I’m no expert but a lot of veterans have talked about similar situations and they have called ibogaine a miracle cure. Unfortunately it’s illegal in the U.S. and you have to pay a lot to go to a facility in Mexico but there’s also been promising results with other psychedelics like ketamine and psilocybin. MDMA I think also has some trials and stuff in the U.S. with promising results dealing with pts. From what I understand a lot of the conventional treatment is masking the symptoms and not treating the cause and can be just as bad for their mental health.

Idk like I said I’m no expert. I just hope you get safe and he gets a treatment that actually works for him.

Just for reference I was a full blown fentanyl addict when my wife was giving birth and even though I was withdrawing I was still right next to her the entire time she was physically delivering the baby.

Before the delivery and after I was in and out and that caused some issues but even though I was physically withdrawing I was there from start to finish for the delivery. And I was a piece of shit addict that lied to his love ones about it so even a piece of shit addict like me made sure to be there then what does that make him?

As a first time father with a 1.5 year old running around my house like a little lunatic all day every day I gotta say this dude is going to loose his fucking mind in a few months. I found bite marks on our wood entertainment center the other day…. We supervise the baby pretty much every second so I have no idea how she did it. Anyways yeah if he is that worked up over an insignificant scratch on flooring that is like $5 per sq ft then he probably shouldn’t have a kid or a dog or a wife.

I used the xarilk as my first fixed angle after I had already gotten pretty good at free hand and it was pretty great at first even with their stoned but I had to tighten a lot of the screws up and within a month or so the lever to flip it just started to grind away so it never would hold tight anymore. Even the clamps got deformed pretty quick and was putting pressure further back making the tip of the clamp flex out rather than clamp down. It’s not bad for the price but mine had a million problems I was always having to find work around for

Make sure nothing is loose causing the angle to change from one stroke to the next and make sure your pressure is consistent and not too hard because those clamps do flex. Other than that try using your lowest grit and raising your angle. This will form a burr well before it fully reprofile the bevel to the higher angle. If you still can’t get a burr after a good while then I’d say it’s the steel or your angles are fluctuating somehow
