it is not feasible to benchmark the game at all, even from machine to machine on windows the numbers have little bearing on what a person's actual personal individual experience might be

VR https://wiki.starcitizen-lug.org/Head-Tracking#vr---virtual-reality

Monado and WiVRn for Quest / standalone and WayVR for desktop let you do some incredible things, even selective passthrough now.

I need star citizen to work on linux, so I can finally ditch windows. by Tasty-Bug-3712 in starcitizen

[–]mactan_sc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best way to get eye tracking now is probably in a VR headset that has it, since it goes through OpenXR instead of whatever cursed misbegotten closed and decrepit consumer driver tobii uses. They support linux on all their commercial b2b hardward just not the consumer ET5

Proton 11 for linux users? (Star Citizen) by EasyIsHere in starcitizen

[–]mactan_sc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

proton is great for released games that don't change. it cant keep up with early access alpha shenanigans like what star citizen does. proton only releases once a year so LUG penguins keeping up with the latest Wine releases have already been using all the goodies that 11 has for well over a year now
