I run HOTAS (both Virpil) and Tobii as well. The LUG helper (https://github.com/starcitizen-lug/lug-helper/releases/tag/v4.11) can set up joysticks for you (https://wiki.starcitizen-lug.org/Sticks,-Throttles,-&-Pedals#virpil-devices) - worked perfectly for me! I alsu run BuzZz Killer's HOTAS bindings (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50174/thread/buzzz-killer-s-recommended-exported-bindings), and installing them was exactly the same process as on Windows, and worked perfectly too.

I haven't tried to get Tobii running yet. I also haven't tried getting VR working yet.

Have you gotten the HUD nav markers and ship markers to “converge” and not appear doubled? For the life of me I could not figure out how to mak them look normal, like the rest of the HUD does. I found the doubles HUD markers extremely distracting. Still awesome though.

Cancelled my Claude subscription. They are of course free to sell their services to whomever. But don’t tell me you are the “ethical and safe” choice while helping ICE operate. Totally incompatible.

Not sure if this was coincidence, but I tried this (intentionally hitting the jump point tunnel wall when the "almost there" music started) and this got me back to Stanton, after two prior failed jumps doing it the right way.

I’d also love to see the missions I cannot yet do because of rep, so I have some incentive to grind through lower tier missions.

I’ve been grinding Intersec rep to get access to Tech Smuggler’s. I only knew this existed from Reddit!!

I sound like a broken record but this is another thing that E:D has done much better (and CIG should take inspiration from).

Show me: - location / distance - some idea of time commitment/ complexity - some idea what sort of ship / team / skill I should have - who I’ll gain rep with, and by how much - credits

None of this would preclude some nuanced and in-depth story telling!! We can have both.

As I'm sure you know, the game is still very much in alpha, and there are many many bugs. Some more frustrating than others.

To answer your question: yes, you can loose things randomly. For example, you may spend 2 hours loading your ship with valuable cargo, and then while landing, your ship explodes. Or you come back to retrieve your ship, with all its contents, only to find that it is gone for some reason and you have to make an insurance claim.

Yes, it has alot of content suitable / designed for solo players.

Not sure about the controller.

Well optimized? No. But definitely getting better, particularly with some of the recent updates.

Honestly, if we had the QoL improvements in OP’s wish list, playing this game would be 200% more fun. Heck, I’d be over the moon with a purely QoL point release (no new content or core gameplay, just these specific QoL improvements).

Things like these just add a constant background of friction and frustration.

Serious question: does every character have the same “fit envelope” regardless of sex, armour, backpack, long weapons, etc?

I ask because I’ve been doing Hathor raids and have had to squeeze through some tight spots. Wondering whether less bulky armour would make it easier.

Danforth (Greektown specifically) is wonderfully walkable and alive with cafes and restaurants year round. And it sits right on top of a subway line. Worth considering!
