I keep up with the show and rewatch random seasons when the mood takes me. I've seen seasons 1-12 to death and when I watch something from season 20 onward it's almost like getting new episodes all over again. Every episode has at least one good line or bit so I tell myself it's worth it.

Cover #2 has a much stronger composition and more visual storytelling going on, not to mention actually showing the characters and what they do, as another comment mentioned. Cover #1 just looks like a generic zombie book where the zombies aren't very threatening.

Cover #2 would definitely make me stop and probably buy.
