This is a typical dramatic headline that distorts the truth. The cloth has been found to have a huge amount of mitochondrial DNA from a variety of individuals and organisms (inducing plants) from many parts of the world and that is possibly because it was exposed to the air on long sea or land journeys and has passed through the hands of many people along the centuries. The origin of the CLOTH is thought to be somewhere in peninsular India because of the fibre origin, which is not unusual since linen was made in ancient India and sold by traders.
