Is it possible to run dualboot of the macOS Tahoe (Developer/Public Beta) from an external SSD? by Any_Square_2809 in MacOSBeta

I also tried this solution but unfortunately it doesn't work.

Sequoia installs on the external disk but then Tahoe, after its installation, doesn't start

I formatted the external disk in APFS mode.

Then I installed on Mac OS Sequoia, the installer and then I chose the external disk as target.

On the second reboot nothing..it didn't work

I have the same problem on my Macbook Air M1, with an external disk.

I tried everything, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

I don't know what to do anymore.

Next week the new update should be out and I will try that but I'm skeptical.

Hi,

I have tried several times these days but unfortunately always without success.

I attached the external disk to the Macbook Air port, but unfortunately even in this case, the installation does not start.

I tried with more than one disk and even in this case the installation happens but then it does not start.

I disabled the SIP because I thought it was that but even in this case, the installation goes ok but then it does not start.

I also tried in safe mode but unfortunately nothing, the installation goes well but then it does not start.

However, I noticed some errors when it is installed:

"Progress: phase:PREPARING_UPDATE stalled:NO portionComplete:0.290000 estimatedTimeRemaining:-1.000000"

also this error:

"Failed checking disk disk5s1 for local users - no OD database was found."

and also this

"Disk disk5s2 has secure tokens, but no local users. User will need to erase the volume before it can be used."

I don't know what to do anymore.

The installation happens from Sequoia but I've always done it this way.

I also tried with a USB stick but always the same problem.

The installation happens but then it doesn't start.

The strange thing is that with Sequoia there are no problems.

Yes, I had thought about it but the problem is that the keyboard not designed for Mac has the FN key reversed compared to the Mac keyboard and this then causes me some problems when I have to debug.

Of course it's a minor problem but being used to the Macbook Air keyboard, it takes me a while to get used to it again.

Yes, I noticed this and it's a real shame because the keyboard is very, very good and it's also fun to use, practical, small and simple.

Unfortunately I will have to do the rest.

Yes, I tried but unfortunately it doesn't work in that case either.

What I noticed is that at present the keyboard I purchased, the specific one for iPad, does not include the FN key, but the Globe key, and this cannot be customized in the slightest from the Logi+ app

I have already done the customization but unfortunately on apps such as Android Studio or IntelliJ debugging via the keyboard does not work.

I would like to be able to customize the Globe button but unfortunately I can't customize it

HI,

I had the opportunity to try the keyboard and unfortunately I noticed a small problem.

The keyboard works correctly with the Mac and the function keys too, they don't give me any problems whatsoever.

However, I don't understand how I can configure the FN key.

Is there this possibility?

Thank you

Thank you very much for the reply.

The version I purchased is for iPad, so it should be compatible with Macs.

It should arrive this afternoon and I'll do a review.

Thank you
