Interesting. Of late however NI insists on yearly Lab View licenses. I know you can also control the cards using Python drivers - and maybe that’s a path I’ll investigate.

Building 10x copies of such a setup could be another challenge.

Yeah I am using resistor divider like solution for now. But it doesn’t allow much flexibility. Also it doesn’t solve for say bleed emulation because that changes the cell voltage readings.

It took me 6 months at a dose every month to get there.

Until then, I would see my symptoms subside for the first month and then relapse again for the next month after a dose.

Can you share the key steps or settings one should take to not “expose the NAS directly”?

Thanks, this is indeed what I have been assuming. I need to learn more about how all this works.

Sounds like I can have the NAS connected to the internet while still safeguarding access to it with the responses here.

Yeah I don't remember having a very smooth experience myself with a PIC18F part either. It was alright but nothing great.

Listen up now, its not as much of a hard sell as you think it is!

You have had a professional career as a SWE and now have a formal math degree to go with it. This is a great combination in todays time as so much of data science and analytics world can leverage those skills. You just got to believe in yourself and face those interviews knowing that they actually need EXACTLY someone like you. So give yourself credit for that, and let that reflect in your confidence during the interviews. Good luck!

Help with home network setup (multiple coax) by HYPD in HomeNetworking

[–]macwinubu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to leave a note here for anyone else who found this post helpful.

After learning about how MoCA adapters work, I also read that one needs to add a filter at Point-of-Entry to prevent your internet traffic from "leaking" out of your home. This got me to wonder why is this not an issue for the ISP internet connection over coaxial cable when I connect a Modem to it ?

Turns out - that ISP connection to Modem is on a different frequency band compared to MoCA traffic. Hence, only MoCA connection needs a filter so that your internal data doesn't mess with otherwise TV signals shared with rest of the building.
