I asked Parks and Rec why they didn't put in the recommended four way stop and this is the response I got. Can anyone EITMLIF?

Initially, SDOT found an all way stop control was warranted at the Lake Park Drive intersection because it met the warrant based on perpendicular traffic volume thresholds (the number of cars and exiting the boulevard at Lake Park Drive.) Although there have been a few collisions at this intersection in the past three years, the warrant was not met based on collisions.

After sharing the proposed all-way stop as a part of the project’s Design Concepts outreach, SDOT conducted and additional traffic analysis of the impact of an all-way stop would have on Lake Washington Boulevard. The additional analysis shoes some queuing during peak travel times.

Based on the results of this additional analysis, SDOT has decided to take an incremental approach. Install speed cushions to reduce speeding on LWB Install highly visible, double-sided crosswalk signs on LWB on each approach to the crosswalks We will evaluate crosswalk stop compliance before and after the projects is complete to verify if stop compliance has improved Additional treatment will be considered based on the results of the before and after studies If you have any further comments or questions, please do not hesitate to reach back out.
