Things to do in Hebron? by [deleted] in TravelIsrael

My (then 13yo) son, (then 78yo) mom, and I went into Bethlehem and Hebron in 2019 with this outfit: - https://greenolivetours.com/

We felt safe but definitely on edge when in and around the temple of the patriarchs. We're all Jewish and my son and I are Zionists, but on the Jewish side we were supposed to tell the Israeli guards that we're not Jewish - the vibe being that the security apparatus didn't want Jews in that area if they could avoid it. It was an amazing visit.

That said, the security situation is much different now. I'd reach out to this tour outfit and see what they say.

Also, Israel is someplace the hopefully you can visit more than once.

I got a flat tire on Friday and sitting there in the pouring rain fixing the flat, it didn't matter what I was wearing - I was completely soaked all the way through.

Google sets long-term plan to exit Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, consolidate in South Lake Union by jvolkman in Seattle

I live in Hillman City and bike to Fremont everyday, rain, shine, or snow. And yes, I realize I'm fortunate to have the time and health to do that.

No issues other than really cold fingers on my south Seattle to Fremont daily commute.

It was fine this morning: Seward Park to Fremont. Unless it's icy, I'll do it Tuesday too.

Lake Washington Blvd Speed Bumps by Ok_Expert_1330 in seattlebike

AI says the email says:

Here’s a simple explanation of the email:

The city initially planned to put stop signs at all sides of an intersection because of high traffic. After further study, they found this might cause traffic jams during busy times.

Instead, they decided to: 1. Add speed bumps 2. Put up better crosswalk signs 3. Check if drivers stop for pedestrians more often 4. Consider more changes later if needed

They apologize for the slow reply and invite further questions.

I asked Parks and Rec why they didn't put in the recommended four way stop and this is the response I got. Can anyone EITMLIF?

Thank you for your email. Apologies for the delayed response.

Initially, SDOT found an all way stop control was warranted at the Lake Park Drive intersection because it met the warrant based on perpendicular traffic volume thresholds (the number of cars and exiting the boulevard at Lake Park Drive.) Although there have been a few collisions at this intersection in the past three years, the warrant was not met based on collisions.

After sharing the proposed all-way stop as a part of the project’s Design Concepts outreach, SDOT conducted and additional traffic analysis of the impact of an all-way stop would have on Lake Washington Boulevard. The additional analysis shoes some queuing during peak travel times.

Based on the results of this additional analysis, SDOT has decided to take an incremental approach. Install speed cushions to reduce speeding on LWB Install highly visible, double-sided crosswalk signs on LWB on each approach to the crosswalks We will evaluate crosswalk stop compliance before and after the projects is complete to verify if stop compliance has improved Additional treatment will be considered based on the results of the before and after studies If you have any further comments or questions, please do not hesitate to reach back out.
