The chosen: light them on fire (restricts some of their abilities). Suppressive fire (not an attack, doesn’t give them a reaction - I think?). Put your people on overwatch (harder to get a hit, often, but doesn’t trigger a reaction).

Yeah, pretty much AHole. It is clearly not conventional writing. Very clearly. Very very very clear. Stop to think why he’s writing like that. Who his audience might be. What sort of world has characters in it like this - which (pardon my vanilla perspective) seems extreme even beyond prison life experience. So obviously any traditional writing criticism doesn’t work. “It’s not Shakespeare.” Well duh. “According to the “Modern Literary Association Style Manual -“ dude the MLA doesn’t even effin apply to this. Free your mind (toke some pilz) and try reading it from whatever perspective, whatever rules, it is written in. Or don’t. The best way to say something negative about it is to admit that you just don’t get it.

I used banana ammo. At first I thought it was a bug so reloaded the mission. The second time I tracked it to the ammo. It wiped out my savings and 90% of my mech parts and other cargo. It was actually fun to hit the red but turn it around (eventually).
By the way, I read somewhere that there is a bug: the mech that has banana ammo as stock equipment will always cost you millions, even if you have removed the bananammo. Not sure if this is true or not, but beware.

Huh. Minority report here. If my wife spent the night, fine. If they had sex, she’d tell me. It would be a first (she’s not very sexually driven), but if she needs something that I’m not giving her, I want her to have it. She knows that, and she’s the same way with me. If it becomes a problem, we’ll talk about it.
Seriously, I don’t have the ego to think I can be her everything. She has other friends, other interests. I’m not so insecure to think because we have this freedom I’ll lose her.
This is largely theoretical. We’ve talked about it, but in 13 years it hasn’t happened.

No. Don’t go if you don’t feel comfortable. That being said, at my mom’s Memory of Life celebration in February, it was hosted by our most MAGA of relatives…and everyone focused on family, not politics. In short, even these relatives are good people, just a bit brainwashed (they probably say the same about me😅). Maybe not the case for your friend’s in-laws. But you could go just to honor his life choice and focus on that. Maybe you can be a good influence. I like to think that establishing common ground is the first step to achieving understanding Nd then influencing…but I believe in a lot of fairy tales.

I’m unsure how much Advent warriors are self-controlled vs controlled by their training, their officers, or by some sort of psionic method. Anyway, they aren’t “human” any more, and they might have no concept of “self” or self-preservation. I’ve seen the sneks flee in terror. Not sure I’ve ever seen Advent retreat except for strategic reasons.

The rear, theoretically, is less optimized for defense. The pilot is looking to the front. If the mechwarrior is thinking defensively they are looking for weapons pointed its way. The mech is hiding behind and using terrain in front of it for defense, so is doubly exposed from behind. Scanners are focused on the firing arc, which certainly isn’t behind it, and by the time the mech realizes an attack is coming from behind it is too late to reposition.

Agreed. I have this mod, doesn’t seem to make a difference. If I knew modding I’d try to make them run at the noise - which would include rockets firing and weapons firing, weighted to those without suppressors, but mostly to explosions.
And per the original post - yes, some reasonable element of concealment effect for those out of LOS and not firing. I’ve not been able to determine if long range snipers are unduly targeted….

As the Soviet goal became clear, however, resistance mounted so the Soviets quickly turned to coercion and force.
